Celebrity Meghan Markle / Rachel Meghan Markle / Meghan, Duchess of Sussex / Meghan Sussex / The Alliterate One - Markle Snarkle

measures liquids in a dry measures cup
This is hilarious / cringy to me.

The other stuff you mentioned doesn't really jump out at me, necessarily, but measuring liquids in dry measuring cups is as close as you can get to just straightforward common sense as you can get. The physical design of the utensil should make it as plain as fucking day.

(I also learned that distinction in middle school home ec, but still, it shouldn't even require explicit teaching.)

If she's making these fuckups when she's cooking alone, whatever. When I'm alone and no one's watching, I do (knowingly) use the wrong measuring utensils sometimes just out of convenience.

But if you're putting yourself in front of the camera and pretending to be Martha Stewart? What?

As mentioned, some of my uploads from yesterday failed; I think we didn't archive these here although they were discussed briefly, so here they are. apologies if any are ⏰

Reel from yesterday: meghan squealing at a 6:30 am page refresh.

Today - meghan cooking with bad cooking implements, as previously discussed

Story reel:

Story pictures: @anniebing, @anniebing again, @zoesaldana (Zoe, you have an oscar, do you really need to do influencer crap?) @krisjenner, @officialvictoriajackson all got PR packages. This would explain where all the product went. It looks like the PR package includes the shortbread cookie mix, spread in a cardboard can, crepe mix, 3 types of tea, and the flower sprinkles. Hmmm, no honey. Honestly, selling crepe mix kind of blows my mind. Some cake mixes I can understand as I literally cannot tell the difference between my chocolate cake and boxed chocolate cake except the boxed cake sticks better for frosting than my crap, but crepes are so incredibly basic.

I think people wouldn't even mind if she owned it and shaped her show around "I don't know much about cooking and hosting but I want to learn, here are a bunch of guests to teach us!" She could even keep the free range latchkey kid > spoiled fancy princess storyline she clings to, as an explanation for why she never learned much cookery. Her incessant need to sell herself as flawless and a teacher instead of a learner is where it all goes wrong.

Reminds me of how video game journos will post hilariously inept footage then lose their shit when people criticize it. There's an audience for "I'm an awkward noob, lets have a laugh watching me learn" content, but you have to lean into it. People appreciate the authenticity.

Isn't that kind of the premise behind "Pamela's Cooking with Love" which Meghan is accused of stealing ideas from? Pamela is learning from celebrity chefs who she invites into her real home. She's also been making a major push lately for not wearing makeup after years of being done up to the teeth, which people seem to be very receptive to. Meghan and Pamela are like foils of each other for authentic vs inauthentic.

I genuinely expected her to be able to pull some real star power for launch that would shut everyone up. Alas, alas. Look at this shit (it’s Meghan responding from a strikingly unenthusiastic post from one of her “influencers”):

Why the crying laughing emoji? Is she on the spectrum?

What always surprised me is that Harry fell for her. I would have assumed a Prince would have been better trained to avoid and spot Megan’s type a mile away. I can only assume he really is as dumb as the rumors say. He’s certainly been around enough adoring women, but maybe pissing off his family was a big part of the Megan appeal. I think she was extremely adept at massaging his fragile, spare heir, male ego and since she really didn’t understand much about the royal family he probably thought she was so cheeky and brave, when she was just insipid and uncomprehending.

Prior to Markle, Harry was seen around everywhere with William and Kate and they reportedly all got on rather well. It was pretty noticeable when they stopped showing up together not long after the wedding.

William apparently foresaw what was likely to happen, and tried to take little bro aside to tell him American actresses are fun to casually date - but not really to marry. This upset Harry greatly

According to "Spare" - Harry was fairly displeased when Charles asked him if Meghan was planning to keep working post wedding.

And told him that Meghan should keep up her acting career, as the King does not have bottomless funds to support them singlehandedly. By Harry’s own account he lost it with his father and sarcastically responded that if money was an issue, Meghan doesn’t eat much and she could make her own clothes. (The dumb hoes of the SaintMeghanMarkle subreddit populated an entire thread discussing how Meghan was lying about being able to make her own clothes, Harry fell for it, etc. Not one commenter realized he was being facetious.)

I’d guess the then-PoW mentioned the matter of income to Harry after he got the bill for the $75,000 gown Meghan wore in their engagement photos. Charles paid for that and was right if he was alarmed by her profligate spending right out of the gate.

Speaking of trolls, Meghan’s supposed bestie Daniel Martin lives in comments sections. What a good little soldier.

This is brief but shows how Meghan couldn’t even zest a lemon properly on her show (it looks like she thinks the lemon is a xylophone and the zested her baton), plus other incompetence as she tried to bake a cake. All I can think is that production hated her if they let the editors keep all of these WTF moments:

The way she's holding the dog in the kitchen just gives me the ick.
I love animals, but I don't pick them up and dance around the kitchen while I'm cooking. I also wonder if she washed her hands after she put the dog down.
Yeah I didn’t want to offend any pet owners, but hugging that dog against her cashmere cable knit outfit and then bending over the batter and/or finished product is gross. She showed pretty bad hygiene during her show, with her long (fake) hair worn down and hanging over the food as she cooked and baked.

She has used her pets very strategically, like when prior to the WLM premier, she announced her beagle Guy had died. Her IG post was painstakingly worded to avoid saying when he died.

IMG_6018.jpeg

Guy ended up with two broken front legs in 2017 and Meghan has never explained how that happened. She’s given conflicting statements about when it happened. I don’t think she deliberately broke his legs (many of the anti-Meghan brigade do), but it is kind of unsettling.

Dipshit, you were warned. Repeatedly. And yet you somehow continue to act shocked and put-upon years later.

Same page of the book, lol.

But Harry managed to convince himself that Charles, the future King, didn't want to support the spare and his wife financially because he was jealous.

Meghan was "grabbing the limelight" and Charles and Camilla were jealous. In Harry's mind. And in his book. Which, sing it with me if you know the words, is the version of the story Meghan allowed him to tell.

omg, I didn't read his book obviously because I have better things to do, but he is so fucking dumb, it's unbelievable. "How much could it possibly cost to house and feed Meg?" Is he blind? He is so freaking clueless, he really needs a tard wrangler. I can't believe someone can be that stupid and clueless and even write a book about it :)

Besides which, how much could it possibly cost to feed and house Meg?

We’ve discussed this before but Meghan was expensive as fuck to maintain and most of it indeed came out of the Duchy of Cornwall. This chart excludes her bespoke Givenchy wedding gown, which cost $265,000, as well as her reception dress. It includes some jewelry from Cartier for $200k as it is unclear if those were purchases or gifts. We’ve discussed before but let’s go into more detail. https://www.eonline.com/news/1001644/meghan-markle-had-the-most-expensive-royal-wardrobe-in-2018#

Let’s look at some of her looks:

The 157k Stella McCartney wedding reception dress
1743776649018.jpeg

The $100k haute couture Dior maternity abaya
1743776394395.jpeg

The $75k Ralph & Russo transparent engagement dress
1743776561540.jpeg

The 18k Givenchy dress

If somebody knows the most expensive thing Catherine, wife to the heir to the throne, has worn ever aside from her Alexander McQueen Wedding dress ($332,000) please share. As far as I am aware it is her AQ dress at her sisters wedding at ~$14,000 or the blue Philippa Lepley dress at ~14.5.

You know what, I think this one actually looks good on her. She has the shoulders of a linebacker, but wearing a dress that emphasizes them in that way almost makes it seem like she has a waist.
I think it still isn’t tailored properly but I do see what you are saying.

Some people speculate she gave Harry a pregnancy scare to convince him to shotgun their wedding and the lack of tailoring on her gowns is due to that. I’m not saying everything needs to be skin tight but it looks like the dress is buckling at the side seams, it should have been taken in a bit at the bust and back to support the structure and the train since the weight can’t be supported from the waist and hips in this dress shape.

It looks OK, bt it's very boring to me and wildly overpriced.
On that note, can someone explain how Dior justified charging $100K for that jilbab? I understand that design, fine tailoring, and luxury materials cost money, but that looks like a "my first dress" project.
Do they wildly overinflate the cost of design or something?

Funny, I just watched a very informative video about wedding and all the drama surrounding it. Even Kate Perry said about her Givenchy dress, that it needed another fitting, and "Kate won!"
The dress really looks awful for its cost.
Here is the video link if you are interested, but most of you probably watched it already:
(it might be even linked in the OP, sorry I had no time to check it now)

Yeah, not a perfect look. The neck thing makes her neck look like a tree trunk. And Stella McCartney dresses always seem to have some weirdness in the bust, I don't know what her deal is. Not that I'm a fashionista by any stretch, it just always seems like Stella McCartney is always trying to say "THIS PERSON HAS BREASTS, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM WITH SOME WEIRD LINES AROUND THEM" or something.

It’s also one-of-a-kind. Haute Couture clothing is made only once and the client has exclusive lifelong access to the design. There’s some hilarious petty drama in the fashion world when designers make a second design too close to the first. I’m not arguing the price is justified, just giving additional context.
