Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

the only thing more pathetic than console waring, is GPU/CPU waring, i view Nvidia/AMD/Intel fags at a even lower level than i do console/pc fanboys, at least those people argue with more in terms of gaming, GPU/CPU people be like
"THE NEW NIGGERVIDA 1488000 HAS 50000 GIGASHITS PER TERRAFART"

PS2 controller is best. For some reason every controller afterwards had L2/R2 hang off the edge of the controller like triggers and they all have that squishy resistance, making them GARBAGE for Fighting games. 360 is probably the worst controller ever for the genre because it also has an abysmal dpad, PS3 at least had a flawless dpad.

I hate those PS3 triggers. I always end up pressing at the top and my finger hits the little piece of plastic dividing the buttons.

the thing that irks me most in games is bad movement and shooting. by bad movement and shooting, i mean awkward control schemes, overly offset camera perspectives for walking and aiming (i found alan wake guilty of this), floaty walking, bad camera systems, basically if a game has any of this, i stop playing. you know what made me stop playing that new tales of the borderlands game? wasnt the story or characters or anything. i legit just didnt like how walking in that game just felt. it was like sliding around on ice.

Have you priced an NES cartridge lately? Those things can go for hundreds or even thousands of dollars,
That entire speculative bubble Industry exists because of Jews who run grading companies and auction houses collaborating to make headline grabbing sales and get retards to use their services I in which they take either a percent of the sale or a percent of the value they claim it has. This video breaks the whole scam down

Those that want a "gaming collapse" clearly never lived through the 1983 crash, its not just "bad/woke companies suffer" it is "this very idea of video games dies", remember that in the USA during the crash, the very concept of video games nearly just went away, so if we had a second crash, i doubt any thing gaming related would survive, I remember my dad telling me stories of during those 2-3 years of the crash, no games on store shelves, no arcades, almost all gaming in his local area just vanished. but then again, internet retards are obssessed with collasping, like siege niggers and their society collapse,

If the best we can get these days is shit like Fromsoft shitting out Battle Royale games it honestly might be a mercy.

Games already released won't go away. If you're saying modern day gaming will completely die then all I can say is good. Let it die. Let it all burn and go away for a few years because it's fucking shite.
Genuinely, when was the last good game that released? Cyberpunk after it was fixed? Apex legends? Baldurs gate 3?
Even if it's all three of those, that's 3 in what, thousands? yeah, burn it all down.

The loss of the A and B tier games has crippled the industry because they churned out games cheaper than AAA games that innovated mechanics, which were then adopted by the AAA studios. By nature of their design and creation, AAA games can't add major innovations on games as it's risky.

A gaming collapse like you describe can't happen again because of how many different foreign markets there are that actually work. Back in the 80s, the only choice back then was Atari.
Even then, Nintendo made the NES afterwards and arcades came back. Now we've got entire countries of markets that aren't the West. So what if the Western market collapses, there's the Japanese market. Oh, they shit the bed too? The Korean market. They also fucked up? The Chinese market. No Chinese market anymore? How about Russian games? And on it goes because it actually is a free market and if one of them fucks up, the others eat up that free market share and the odds of every single market becoming incompetent is so improbable it might as well be impossible.

That is still something that irks me from clueless idiots. The only thing affected, was Burgerland. Nowhere else in the world was a "crash". Japan was fine, Europe was fine, even America's demented little brother Canada, was fine. Also it only affected video game consoles and contrary to popular myth, it wasn't because of Pac-Man or ET but rather people wondering why they should waste money on something that can only play games and nothing else, instead of buying a C64 or other Computer that can do so much more. That was that. And again, it was only one country (that always takes itself too important)

And a crash like that can't happen again anyway. Because first of all, consoles nowadays are outdated PCs that still can do a lot of PC things. So the "why pay for something that only plays games" thinking isn't possible any longer and furthermore, by now gaming is such a huge part of humanity, that it will never full die or go out of style, it's simply impossible. It would be like claiming movies would die out.

And let's not forget that even the "crashed and dead" murican developers still released some great games in 1983 and 1984 like Lode-Runner, Ghostbusters, Karateka, King's Quest, Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, Ultima 3 and of course all the great Infocom text adventures, because again, gaming wasn't dead, only video game consoles were.

But the industry definitely needs a massive shake up and i think nobody would be truly sad if the shitty, greedy corporations like Take-Two, Ubisoft, EA, Tencent and Microsoft Gaming would cease to exist. Because personally, i'd rather have 5 lower budget quirky, but inspired "euro jank" games than the billionth tranny and nigger infested, microtransaction riddled shit sequel for Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Call of Duty or Battlefield that somehow costs half a billion to make...

I ageee mostly and stand corrected, maybe it’s just I’m tired of seeing the word “collapse” constant in online circles, I view a shake up needed more than anything, when I hear the term collapse, I think of siege fags of edgy retards talking about their society collapse or helter skelter shit. Maybe that’s just my fault for hanging in those circles years ago.

Back to the topic at hand, with the Project Rene leaks looking even more and more damning for the future of The Sims franchise, and people are enjoying inZOI despite it's "uncanny valley" looks and higher system requirements, I again think that Paradox jumped the gun too early with cancelling Life By You, as it would have been nice to see how it would compete against The Sims and inZOI. I still don't have hopes for Paralives though, even though they said that Early Access is releasing this year, as I don't like the artstyle of the characters since they resemble too much like the SJW Art & Extremes artstyle.
Sadly I don't think it really matters what EA does with The Sims franchise, it has been proven time and time again that they will plop out whatever steaming mound of shit they can shovel out the door with a quickness and the average Sims player is going to buy it at a premium, even if they bitch about it the entire time and it totally breaks their game. Seriously, these motherfuckers will bitch until they're blue in the face about how greedy EA is, how tired they are of game-breaking bugs and unfinished product, how [X] expansion doesn't really add anything of value to the game and how dead and boring TS4 feels, yet ten minutes after a new pack releases they're already talking themselves into buying it.

Another problem is that while there are a handful of competitors stepping up in the life sim genre, one reason The Sims continues to do well is low system requirements. This is why TS4 was a step back in a technical sense in almost every conceivable way. Graphics, animations, textures, lighting, amount of options, going back to closed worlds after TS3's open world and having 'worlds' with like five or six fucking lots on them and fewer Sims spawning and mostly just milling around aimlessly when they do. No cars because without an open world they're pointless props. About the only thing TS4 improved on was the build mode and MAYBE create-a-sim. People claim up and down that all of this was a stylistic choice, that EA wanted a more 'cartoony' and whimsical look for TS4, but in truth it's because EA knows that their primary user-base are a bunch of wine aunts, cat ladies and casuals who will get very upset if the new Sims game doesn't run on whatever fucked-over rebuilt toaster they're calling a computer. Many of these people won't even be able to think about booting InZoi [or other competing titles] because it won't run on their Dell Dimension 2400 that they've been limping along since 2004. Slight exaggeration but it is a big problem for them.

And if the modding scene doesn't pick up fairly quickly for these competing titles, that'll be another demerit on the part of the community who simply can't play a life sim without 50+ mods that include functions like hair that doesn't fit with the game's aesthetic, tools to make your Sim look like Nicki Minaj but with bigger fish lips and indeed, mods that allow your Sims to fuck each other in full detail, including their dogs. Not even joking, that shit exists. These same people bitch about the fact that every new game update or pack [even small bugfixes] breaks all of their mods and most TS4 players have the technical acumen of someone who lived during the fucking Dust Bowl years. I'm surprised some of them can even manage to boot up a computer. A lot of them also don't want to move on from TS4's ecosystem because that means the $1200+ they've spent on expansions and game packs is all wasted because like TS4, the next release will probably start out without pools, dogs, cats, toddlers, burglars, etc. so EA can nickel and dime them for features that were in TS1's base game twenty-five fucking years ago.

I legitimately can't think of another player base of a franchise that is more willing to spend money on total fucking diarrhea, complain about it and then spend more money. They actively hate the fucking franchise now but refuse to do the one thing that might send EA a message about what they want or don't want: stop fucking buying shit. The people who play gacha games, mobile games or Madden might come close in that respect but I still think people who play The Sims take the cake. For fuck's sake, LGR built his YouTube career on The Sims and now he dreads new expansion packs coming out for TS4 because people expect him to review it even though he hates TS4. TS3 was the peak and it's all downhill from here unless one of the competing titles can manage to poach the few reasonable people left who aren't just playing TS2 + TS3 endlessly.

Like in DS3 where, to get one of the good items in the game, you have to do what is essentially an out of bounds glitch move jumping off a tree to get to the rafters,
Holy fuck nigger, you couldn't make it more obvious you didn't play it and just watch videos of the game, if that. It's like it's a glitch... because it is you retard. That's not how you get there normally, you buy a key to open a locked door. The skip saves money and is easy to do so everyone does it.

Here you are dumping your dogshit takes about these games when you're this ignorant. Fuck off.

Naw, it wasnt that bad.

Arcades were still fine. In some ways, it was a bit of a boon because my dad picked up an assload of atari carts for cheap. But yeah, the american console scene died and nothing new came out till the NES arrived. But the thing is, by that time 8 bit computers were really making inroads. Alot of my friends who had intellivisions and ataris simply switched over the c64 and never looked back.

Sadly, Atari had the 7800 ready to go in 1984. And if they had released it with the proper marketing campaign it may have been able to mitigate the crash and keep a chunk of the market from nintendo, which only came to market in NA in 1985. But they put it off until 86, which was by then too late.

The 7800 was a fine console for the era too. While its graphics hardware was a small step below the NES, it could push alot more sprites. The real issue was the sound..the 7800 had the atari 2600 sound chip instead of the POKEY chip found in the atari 5200.

It really would be interesting to see how this would have affected the console market in North America if it has been released in 84

Making videogames is more interesting than playing ones. That's why there's so much zero effort indie-slop nobody gonna play
It can be. In my case my "zero effort indie slop" isn't so much zero effort, as it is niche and made for quick turn around time. I'm making a fun little game for me and my friends. I'm making some niche game that appeals to a very narrow set of tastes.

Then there's the practical application. I won't go into detail again, but the short version is people hate "pixel shit" "PS1 style" and "stock assets", but won't give practical options for a solo indie dev.

There's also a problem that some people, especially on the internet, have no ability to say "no". Complain about pixel shit? Then don't play pixel shit. Don't like AAA slop? Stop playing AAA slop. There's always some excuse. It still baffles me that people will play a game like Changed or Pirate's Fate and then act surprised that it turns out to be some furry fetish game.

I rather them use their face instead because it’d be funnier that way, look at bowblax for example, second he showed his awful face, he got turned into a soyjak
And that's part of why they do it. You could make the same argument for Kiwi Farms. Don't hide behind an avatar. Use your real face so that way I can dismiss you for your lack of chin or whatever the fuck.

Asmongold is a great example. I've yet to hear a single argument for why he's wrong. Every time someone is mad at one of his takes, it's all comments about his teeth or room or something he did decades ago.

maybe it’s just I’m tired of seeing the word “collapse” constant in online circles,
It's a death cult that's been a thing since at least the Xbox 360. People preying that the industry would crash to make Halo, Gears of War, and Call of Duty disappear so Megaman, Mario, and 8 bit platformers could rule the industry again.

The good news is the collapse is already happening, and I'm enjoying it.

Ok, so I did the door wrong. But what about the whole "pump a rum" "leave an item, go through a loading zone, and then return without hitting another loading zone" bullshit? How is that self explanatory?

For what it's worth, I also fucked up the onion man quest. I soft locked it because after the guy lowers the platform, I talked to NPCs in the wrong order. Supposedly that's my fault too.

Want a third? I was told dex/dodge builds are OP, so I rolled a thief. Only to be told I did that wrong too. It's "obvious" that to build a dex character, you pick the knight and then spec him into dex to get better stat distribution. So I started over as a knight and ended up going with a strength build because fuck that obtuse nonsense.

How about a forth? I got a shitty ending where, after beating the final boss, there's a cutscene of my character walking off then credits roll. I asked a friend if that was it, and supposedly you're not supposed to fight the last boss if you want the real ending.

Maybe I'm a dumb retard, but I doubt it. Unless you're an obsessive autist reading all the notes and guides before hand, none of this makes any sense. I never had these problems with Remnant or The Surge.

People who think there will be a video game collapse somehow don't grasp how big of a form of entertainment games are. The industry is going nowhere, game devs having to cut jobs in these last couple years is as close as you're going to get when it comes to a gaming collapse.

One of the main reasons I don't think an Oblivion remake will do very well is that Oblivion is right on the edge of being an actual bad game.

Most of Oblivion's charm comes from the jank, plethora of amusing bug, weird potato faced npcs, and bad voice acting.

If you sand off the rough edges what's left is very bland and not very entertaining unfortunately.
Same with morrowind lol.

People don't want to admit it but Skyrim is betshedas only good game.

But what about the whole "pump a rum" "leave an item, go through a loading zone, and then return without hitting another loading zone" bullshit? How is that self explanatory?
The bullshit that doesn't exist? Items instantly get traded once you put the item down, no reloading of the zone is required. This is what I mean by you keep saying shit that screams you didn't even play the game, cause these are not fuckups you would make by playing on your own.
I soft locked it because after the guy lowers the platform, I talked to NPCs in the wrong order
This is literally not a thing. The order has no bearing on anything and you can complete this part of the quest whenever.
I was told dex/dodge builds are OP, so I rolled a thief. Only to be told I did that wrong too.
Starting classes have slightly different stat distribution, literally every one of them can be turned into any build, you just need a few extra levels for some. There's no hard locked classes or builds and there's nothing to imply otherwise. You either listened to a retard (obsessed with minmaxing stats) or are just a retard parroting nonsense.
I started over as a knight and ended up going with a strength build because fuck that obtuse nonsense.
There's literally nothing obtuse about leveling dex vs str. What are you on about? Some weapons scale with one or the other or both, and have minimum requirements of either/both stats to use them.
I got a shitty ending where, after beating the final boss, there's a cutscene of my character walking off then credits roll. I asked a friend if that was it, and supposedly you're not supposed to fight the last boss if you want the real ending.
What.
>I beat the final boss, and I was like why didn't I fight the final boss?
I can't even begin to parse this. And there is no ending where you don't fight the final boss. And there is no "real" ending, there's 3 different endings. This is pure nonsense.

It is legit impressive how every one of your complaints is incorrect. You are regurgitating random crap you read/saw, this kind of misinformation cannot be caused through first-hand experience. Yet you're seething about them this hard and crying about needing guides. What?
Maybe I'm a dumb retard, but I doubt it.
Never doubt yourself.
