Wasn't the point of that segment was that robots were on the verge of fucking humanity over or something? Because that particular example has been on there for an few years, probably after the Wachowskis trooned out.
Everyone post-Asimov completely misinterpreted his works as "Robots are always secretly the good guys. It's all the shitty organics' fault for creating them and being illogical and evil."
His point when writing robots with sapience is that they function as unique tools who can sometimes be in the right or wrong, not some stand-in for the oppressed minority of the day.

Personally, I just think the Matrix is poorly written. Good fight scenes but pretentious social commentary is what killed the last 2 films.
Edit: Oh sorry 3, I had forgotten there was an even worse one now.
Relevant Confused Matthew rant if anyone remembers him

I think pretty much everyone agrees that the first one is good but the sequels sucked. That was certainly the attitude toward them when they came out. Similarly to the Star Wars original trilogy vs. the prequels, a creator made a fun, simple, well-executed action-adventure movie, got way too conceited after it saw massive success, and mistakenly believed that they were capable of making something deeper with an important spiritual and/or political message. The Wachowskis didn't even get through one trilogy before falling into this trap, though.

I'd argue the prequels actually have value though. Even if you didn't like the movies, they gave us 10 solid years of great games, books, and other media. Meanwhile The Matrix shot itself in the foot and spent the next decade bleeding out.

The monsters in Jurassic Park aren't even dinosaurs. They're just genetic abominations that kind of look like them for the purpose of making a big stupid zoo. Funnily enough, if a similar undertaking were to be made in real life, the "dinosaurs" would probably end up looking more like the ones in Jurassic Park than the real ones to sell more tickets.

Now face the locker, Tropefag. That lunch money is mine.

I'd even argue that the Prequels themselves have been vindicated by retrospective now that Disney practically nuked the franchise and spat on its legacy. For better or worse, George Lucas really did want to create something good even if he was bogged down by his penchant for pulp writing and Americana; I don't know if the Wachowskis were actually that interested in making more Matrix movies for any motive other than money.

Okay, i more or less undestarnd the existence of 'excentric' demographic audiences to be a YMMV trope on it's own. But i don't really get why stuff like "Trans Audience Interpretation" and "LGBT Fanbase" should be at all articles on it's own consequently leading to incredibly cheesy or even repugnant entries like these. Didn't they nuke "Fetish Fuel" for a reason?

So I wont even botter watching the new Netflix Devil May Cry, but how you fuck up your story so much even the guys at that site will just point "you fucked up"?

  • Fans were not happy with the Adaptational Jerkass that Sparda got hit with as a result of introducing innocent demons that suffered under the rule of Mundus and other powerful demons as it undermines both Sparda's position as the Greater-Scope Paragon of the series who's decision to seal the worlds was only resulted in sympathy towards him for being unable to return to his home, as well as the rare occasions where demons like Trish choose to fight against their Always Chaotic Evil nature and and choose to do good. It also goes against the canon of the games where even the weakest of the weak demons like Sid still relish in holding power over others or how the demons consider their relationship with humans akin to that of predator and prey. By making good demons more common, it makes Sparda's rebellion less heroic and special and paints him in a far worse light than ever before.
So while I do like some fanart of Samus with extra beef, the most buff she got is still well on the realm of normality for a woman, like the Fusion end screen design is just someone who trains a lot, even women who arent taking steroids can get that body, how the fuck this would somehow mean "shes a man"

Really, trans people seem more misogynistic than the biggest incel can ever hope to be, after all, which incel will see a great female character and imediatly go "shes a man"?

"You know Samus? That Nintendo character whose entire appeal is actually being a gorgeous woman under 100 lbs of armor? Yeah she's trans actually"
Mental illness.

I remember when someone posted a pic of a NASA programmer who helped with the Apollo program, some random guy retweet with "shes t-girl coded"

Women arent even allowed to do something impressive, any woman of relevance? Thats a man.

Arthur Conan Doyle made some schizo theory about Queen Elizabeth being a man, but I dont think even he gets close to the average liberal
