It costs 13k per month for my grandmother's nursing home granted she's greatest generation not boomer but if reddit NEETS think they have big inheritances coming they're delusional.

Boomers will burn every single penny they have on hairbrained medical schemes desperately clinging to life well into the 2050s.

Also their own lack of prospects has less to do with the boomers than it does their own circumstances.

Boomers had the benefit of coming up during a time where American manufacturing was the only game in town. It would have never been possible to maintain that state of affairs indefinitely. (Albeit the powers that be hastening the process with offshoring didn't help matters)

Perhaps after the withdrawals are through, they'll find they can focus on making and building skills instead of consuming.
Gardening, sewing, crafts, fishing, hunting, woodcarving, even some backyard chickens if they've got the room. All much more fulfilling and satisfying than consoooooming all the time.

thats not a progressive issue, though. That’s just an American issue. It feels like so many people in this country have been literally in brainrotted by the internet to believe that if everything isn’t 100% ok for them at that particular moment, then the sky is falling. It’s a mentality that has tricked up to a lot of genuinely intelligent people who are addicted to the 24 hour news cycle and reading doomer posts on Xitter.

Small correction: We are still dealing with the fundies who didn't want anyone playing dungeons and dragons. It's just that they have switched parties and rebranded with rainbow flags now, and these days it's the demons of colonialism and white supremacy and cisheteronormativity that will possess the souls of young men if they pursue unapproved hobbies or interests. But the personality type (and its aims) are exactly the same.
