I bet that Alex has only showed his parents what he wants them to see rather to gain sympathy. I think it's more likely he'd work a job than get offline. His parents would probably have to remove anything that can connect to the web, which I doubt they would or easily could. I give it like, a day tops before he tard rages and picks fights with people again.
