Devil May Cry to get an animated series from creator of Castlevania Netflix series - Bootleg Multiverse

DMC is no stranger to having human villains but they don't do this oppression Olympics bullshit that makes the demons more oppressed.

You can discuss the politics of video games and such, that's fine but this is the type of political commentary that is always terrible like how that edgelord DMC game had Bill O'Reilly as a villain
The only recurring plotpoint of DMC is that the reason Dante is capable of defeating an unlimited number of demon gods and why he keeps turning vergil's ass into paste over and over again is because being in touch with his human side gives him strength.

Out of the 5 DMC games the plotpoint of like 3 of them is that Vergil sold out his human side and allied himself with supersatan and the reason dante beats him and supersatan nonstop is because Dante loves his human side.

Him being terrible at it imo comes from him being 40.
nah
it's because he's a pajeet
I'd honestly respect Shankir if he at least admitted his shows were made for like 10-16 year old boys but it's made for dumb manchildren and he does some of the same shit he did for Castlevania

>Have one character excessively swear it makes Vivziepop blush
>Explain supernatural elements as science
>HUMANS R DA REAL MONSTERS
>Dumb social commentary that feels detached from the source material
>MCU level insincere quips
It's ridiculous
>Everyone swearing makes everyone sound the same, reducing character diversity and impact of certain characters actually having emotional outbursts
>If something is supernatural, it's not fucking science
>Subversionist retardation that says animals that masturbate with the severed heads of other animals are morally superior somehow
>Liberalism
>Forced/Bad writing

they even back off from the edgy shit too

a whole season of build up about a white european vampire chick seducing a brown greekoid and trick him into being her sex slave for them to have three retarded scenes of them making blowjob jokes. invalidating all the build up with a simple finger dismemberment, and psuedo-intellectual nonsense about how vampires uh muh slaves to desires or some shit

To really sum it up, this is some shitskin who never developed past highschool thinking he's making gritty Tolkien when really he's making beloved vidya franchises into safe edgy slop

i have read fanfiction better than this
that phrase used to make feel ashamed a few years back, but that's just a fact of modern life and a consequence of current year writing

i watch it with my wife, but the entire thing came crumbeling down the moment it turned the demons into opressed minority. why even do this?
dmc never was supposed to be deep shit and now they tainted it by having humans kill demon children.

dmc2, 3 and 5 strongly imply thousands died too, but it does not focus on it just because it takes away from the pizza loving wise cracking demon hunter.

Tried making it deep with the reboot and it flopped. I still have some fondness for the first anime which some people don’t seem to like because it’s not a lot of Dante doing demon killing, but I think in hindsight they nailed the characters. Has a whole episode to him playing poker and people dying when they lose, with Lady being the dealer, and he’s played as cool and stylish.

Need modern Western animation adaptations (where the quality of animation is trash) to die quickly.

Alright episode 4 is where the wheels start falling off for most people.

First off, I really liked the Dante flash backs and the little fight he and Virgil have as kids that breaks a bunch of furniture. That was actually cool and it was neat to see just a bit more of his mom and backstory. His fight at the end and the whole build up to him accepting sparda as his father I felt was great. So Dante in my opinion has been consistently decent.

Darkcom gets absolutely wrecked in this episode. If you didn't like em you'll enjoy seeing the 90s diversity squad get absolutely butchered. Lady just barely manages to get out of that turkey shoot alive with the help of.... The demon family.

Alright alright let's... Go over this. Do I agree with this creative decision. No.

It was poorly thought out and the repercussions of having this immigration refugee shit were clearly not thought out in 2022. That being said, can they salvage this?... Maybe?

To their credit, they don't really look like demons, they look more like a separate humanoid race that lives over there and they even refer to themselves with a different name.... They are totally trying to use this to tie in with darkstalkers. They call the realm they come from Makai and refer to themselves as makaians. So basically they are more or less oppressed monster slaves to the "real" demons.

I can work with this, but man they should have known better or figured out a way to make this less on the nose. I honestly do not think it's terribly shot and paced, it's just a bad narrative decision and presentation that is going to hurt this show. They needed to better establish that these guys are entirely separate from what's evil and actually have them make sense to the fans and viewing public.
Frankly it would have been better to say the demons imported these guys from other dimensions as Slave labor or cattle, But I digress.

I'm very forgiving and thought the episode was decent, but I gotta say this is probably the worst one for the demon family misstep that is going to hang over it for the rest of the series.

Can't wait for Shankars Berserk where the church is somehow the cause of all the worlds problems and the Apostles are actually misunderstood.
The Idea of Evil is actually the Abrahamic God and the God Hand is literally what it means where the eclipse is caused by Griffith sacrificing everyone to God and the Angels.

There's also a scene where they give scientific explanation for all the supernatural stuff since Adi really loved to fucking do this for both of his shows already

There’s zero chance in hell this poo gets Berserk. But hell actually let him, I’d love to see him finally fuck a franchise up and get destroyed over it. The fanbase of Berserk are crazy fuckers who tore apart the last anime, I’d love to see what they do to the poo lol.

I saw a post on twitter that pretty much sums why people defend it.

A guy posted that he decided to continue watching the moment he saw they would criticize the US and he knew le chuds would hate it.

They arent even doing that because they like the animation, all that matter is own the chuds.

Also, Vergil quoting the fucking meme in the last episode, God save us from having an actual writer.

Edit, found it

I saw a comment that kinda fits with the whole non stop swearing, its on a DMC reboot review, and while the guy does say the gameplay is fun, while talking on the problems he talks:

"See, he loses the chances of being trully stylish like regular Dante when he open his mouth. See this scene, the bouncer asked for his ticket, so he punches him, thats all cool, but them he takes his papers and write, ok, did he put his name? No, its a "fuck you" for when the writer wants to show "look mom I'm grow up I can say fuck"

Its the same thing, but now theres no gameplay to at least try compensate for it.

Episode 5

We keep running into a problem where Dante is perfectly fine , lady is foul mouthed but good. The rabbit is genuinely great as a villain, but yeah the whole demon refugee thing was not thought through.

I'm not really finding too many issues script wise, it's a believable if exaggerated scenario. Lady goes with the whole refugee thing a little too quickly and sappy but otherwise, I don't think this was a badly done. It's just.... It's literally avatar levels of fuck the demon blue skins with Batman.

I'm not even mad, I'm just confused at how they thought this was a good idea. The past two episodes have been an R rated cross between the Raid and Avatar and it's bafflingly entertaining.

For better or worse that scene sets the tone of the entire game. That Dante could choose to be stylish, but intentionally goes for low blows and does childish shit. So far I don't really think this Netflix Dante suffers from that, he's actually pretty in line with 3s version and doesn't curse that much. He's just a bit more naive and has a teaspoon of Deadpool.

Its because Shankar loves to keep hammerig home how "HUMANS ARE THE REAL MONSTERS" like its groundbreaking

god dammit, episode 5 and 6 made the entire pie crumble.
why is the refuge plot so much in focus? we just wanted dante kicking demon ass, this is making the entire thing needlessly depressing for no reason. dante is hardly even in this show and does nothing to advance the plot.
i really wanted to like this show but watching soldiers in capitain commando outfits gun down children is way to depressing.
(the shapeshifter basicaly committing to alah kaban for the soldiers is funny as shit though. the rabit was experimenting on them, and your telling me he did not know this...while standing in the room with the experiments?)

I am genuinely convinced that this person is a shill or some non-fan who thinks a show having agreeable politics automatically makes it good. Like no, American politics are just out of place with DMC including that shitty reboot which even then at least the evil Bill O'Reilly had more creativity put into his boss fight than just recreating the invasion of Iraq but replacing it with Hell.

Also that tea sipping gif paired with that post is peak fedora tipping reddit

Let's see

>Lady swears like she belongs in a Vivziepop cartoon
>Lady guns down innocent demons who are an analogy for Arabs
>Lady basically acts like a stereotypical racist cop
>Lady works for the US government instead of being independent
>Lady unlearns any lessons she learns to backstab Dante

Yeah truly a one to one adaptation.

I feel like any nuance of a 'Not all demons.' plot is dead in the water when you clearly mark that the good demons are all the ones that just look like precious little humans with horns whilst the bad demons just look like monsters. Don't judge a book by it's cover, except judge entirely by the cover.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the original her father sacrifices her mother to try and become a God because he only cared about being a powerful legend like Sparda. Which is why she doesn't identify with the name he gave her and accepts Dante's nick name of 'Lady'. While in this show, the framing makes it seem like her father just went insane off of the demon juices he was experimenting on because he wanted to be able to protect his family and wife called him a pussy, causing him to kill the mother because of demon urges or some shit.

Seems like a pretty big change in the defining moment of Lady's attitude.
