Magic The Gathering

So how did everyone's prerelease go?

This guy? This guy is MVP. I don't care what you're doing, you pick him pack 1, card 1 because he will enable anything else you want to do.

Who ever got the most mana enabling won. 5 color good stuff is very doable in Dragonstorm limited if you manage to pull some of the tastier commons. My first round, my opponent literally won with this combo:

I'm starting to wonder if anyone at WOTC does playtesting any more.

Favorite combo that killed me?

Lie in Wait is also stupid, stupid good.

I don't think that works, the sword will check for the number of attacking creatures after mobilize resolves, and I don't think that "Tokens that enter attacking" trigger attack triggers.

Unless there's an update the controller should be able to stack the triggers such that the mobilize activates first, generating 3 additional attackers, then the sword trigger resolves, seeing 3 attackers and getting you a card.

From the card specific rulings:
The second ability checks the number of attacking creatures you control only as the ability resolves. If another attack trigger (such as from the mobilize ability) puts creatures onto the battlefield attacking, you can choose to order the triggered abilities so that those creatures enter before Stormbeacon Blade's ability resolves.

That is really weird, usually cards like that don't even trigger at all unless you fulfill the conditions.

It does, because it's worded differently. Compare it to Glimmer Lens, whose trigger basis is "equipped creature and at least one other creature attack," whereas the blade's is just "attack."

The attack trigger meets its condition, so it goes on the stack. On resolution, it checks to see if you have the correct number of attacking creatures. Stacked correctly, you will have 4 when the trigger resolves.

I will congratulate them on making her attractive in both arts, but she still doesn't look like she has the power to beat Surrak
I see now in this article why she was made attractive...

Eshki remains in tune with her community and spends much of her time traveling alongside her wife and hunting dog amongst different family groups of the Temur seeking to know more about their daily triumphs and challenges.

Surrak had been confident in his role as Atarka's Hunt Caller, beholden to the agreement his ancestors had made with the great dragonlord to feed the brood in exchange for allowing them to live. He resisted the rebellions of the humans and sided with Atarka, leading warriors during the Phyrexian invasion and attempting to maintain the dragonlord's authority. Eshki and Surrak finally faced off, but he was no match for her skill; he conceded defeat,
It's so commie/DEI it makes one sick. Surrak is the straight white man enforcing an exploitative system beaten by the beautiful and noble lesbian who is just so awesome he has to concede to her. And now she wanders around just being generally awesome and listening to people.

Magic's story is such a joke now. I wonder if even one of the writers nowadays has spent a single night outdoors.

So how did everyone's prerelease go?
Went 2 and 2 but I still had fun, almost nothing of value was pulled out of the prerelease packs until a friend got a promo ugin and I got a mox, my deck was fun when it worked but it just refused to work for a couple of the matchups but ehh. Had a couple bucks extra after tradesies so I bought 2 more packs and my wife pulled a foil mox so... when these sell I'll be up like 50$ which is a big win for me.

I wish you all luck on your future pack openings friends :)
You post this and I open a scaled textured fetch. Kiwi luck is always peak luck.

I only got to go to two events, and I ended up 4+ colors both times. I agree with you that Lay of the Dragons is an MVP, and it helped me make the good stuff pile viable. I didn’t do amazing in either event, but I won enough games that the set has me excited to play some more when arena updates. Tarkir is a true return to enjoyable limited.

Also holy fuck the commander deck prices are fucked, my LGS had sultai and I think it was temur at $100 a piece.

I believe you are thinking of cards with an intervening if clause. Cards with intervening if clauses need their requirements to be fulfilled both to be put on the stack and during resolution. For example:

1743956981057.jpeg

If you had this and a mobilize 2+ creature and attacked with both, no matter how you stack it Ash's trigger won't trigger as 2 nonland permanents didn't enter this turn yet.

603.4. A triggered ability may read “When/Whenever/At [trigger event], if [condition], [effect].” When the trigger event occurs, the ability checks whether the stated condition is true. The ability triggers only if it is; otherwise it does nothing. If the ability triggers, it checks the stated condition again as it resolves. If the condition isn’t true at that time, the ability is removed from the stack and does nothing. Note that this mirrors the check for legal targets. This rule is referred to as the “intervening ‘if’ clause” rule. (The word “if” has only its normal English meaning anywhere else in the text of a card; this rule only applies to an “if” that immediately follows a trigger condition.)

Note that even though the blade has an if, it's not an intervening if clause so this double check doesn't apply.

LoL that I bet that shit has already been sold on eBay at a grossly inflated price.
Funny you say that, some nigga in our country's (not brasil) mtg trade/commerce group posted some very sus pics like SELLING THESE GOTTA MOVE 'EM QUICK, and one of them literally had the "this is a picture from reddit r/mtg sub" badly cropped out, someone pointed out that these are unreleased cards and the guy LITERALLY AND UNIRONICALLY SAID "my uncle works for wotc and got them early, so please buy them".

They're setting up for Surrak's triumphant return, and a card where he punches a Khan.

A bunch of the leaked cards mention equipment which we already knew about because of Cloud, but how do they expect you to keep a creature alive, keep your equipment alive, or stay alive long enough in standard.
I wonder if a large amount of this set will only be commander and limited playable.

Edit: Looked through it again and I guess the idea is the equipment that makes creatures and end the game with Beatrix, Steiner, or the new equipment burn spell.
