It's autistic but it's because that's what the algorithm wants. It's not so much desperation for attention as it is desperation for YouTube bucks.
I have most likely said this before in this very thread and the story has been told by others before me but in all fairness to them, they actually did want to move away from that because I could imagine constantly researching fucked up cases of child abuse in the extremes would do horrible things to your psyche. However, apparently some members of their own audience did not see it that way.
I doubt they actually have children themselves which makes it weirder. They always justify making these videos as "No one else would!" Yeah because most people aren't interested in speaking about kids that way. Most don't touch the Junko Furuta case without getting worried.
It has also been talked to death by many a true crime YouTuber which "helps".
Learned this from a Nicholas Deorio stream a while back, apparently youtube sponsors will pay you significantly more if you show your face in the sponsor segment. If I had to guess it's a combination of a couple things: encourages more mainstream creators to take the sponsor, makes potential customers have more faith in the sponsor because they can connect it back to a real person, weeds out ai/content farms.
I love Dire Trip, and yes. Dire mentioned that in his video regarding the Cannibal Town Urban Legend Video, he mentioned living a few hours/minutes (iirc) from the place. Also he does mention Missouri a lot, as he was probably born there but moved to Japan. Considering the cases he follows (His 11 Crazy and Weird Series every month.) he mentions Missouri and how he could see some cases like that happening. So yeah, dude moved to Japan. I wonder if he does speak Japanese (He is sponsored sometimes by Babble. But I never heard him speak a lick of that, and I try to learn Yapanese.) so yeah.
FoxAkimbo sucks so much ass. I watched a video of his the other day about AI YouTubers and the mother fucker interrupted the video to ask people to like and subscribe and then did it again at the end.
I watched his newest video in regards to Canada's worst users and he seemed so desperate, mentioning the lack of interest people have with his latest videos then going "well hopefully Canadians can save me : )"
