Damn, just finished watching this. Overall, it was around the same quality of any JCS video.

Was it confirmed that the channel was sold, or was it some type of internal struggle between payment for the narrator? I know kizzume didn't say much openly, so I'm just curious. Glad he's back though.

I don't know. It feels off, somehow. The voice still sounds AI-ish to me (but maybe I'm overthinking it).

I've always liked "This is Monsters" However, he does give his left leaning political views a lot. Overall solid though. Explore With Us is decent, I think I also watch videos from Red Tree Stories, but I remember his voice being kind of jarring, he may have switched to AI narration. I don't remember. Finally, Dreading Crime & Psychology is good. Those are my picks.

Matt Orchard is the new JCS and is overall better and more consistent.

it sounds too fast, i usually watch everything sped up by 1.25 or 1.5 for more efficient slop intake, but this was on normal speed and still sounds faster than it should.

I started watching JCS for the psychology aspects. I felt like I learned something while listening to an interesting story. JCS and even recent EWU videos seem to be missing that part. It just seems like any other true crime video like Red Tree Stories with better editing.

You know? I have Googled and searched everywhere and I'm starting to think that JCS never did a video on R. Kelly but it was a similar kind of psychoanalytical video focusing on his interview before he was convicted.

His Jon Benet video was great even though it's just a comp of all news documentaries about the case.

I'm surprised the latest video is actually a new production. A lot of their post-2020 business model was to put a years-old Patreon exclusive video every couple months and pretend it's new. Also I must have been living under a rock 'cause this thread is the first I hear of the AI narrator video.

That exists? I have snatched 32 Patreon videos, there's a semi-functional Kemono page, and I just found this . Never heard of them doing stuff on Kelly. Was this an old video they deleted? Only removed videos I recall are (1) Prince Andrew and (2) NPD.

So far, I'm 14min in and this is what I remember and loved about the series. There's more psychology instead of just voicing over and pointing out the obvious or recapping the footage.
