It's the only downside so far living in a legal state. The smell of skunk wafting over literally anything at any given time. Vapes generally don't smell much either. But your flower purists insist on letting everyone in a 40' radius around them know they're both carrying and burning at all times, it seems.
We should legalize weed and killing anyone who infects your breathable air with the stench of their smoke, since making me smell that shit without my consent violates the NAP.

People have written probably a collective 50 pages in this thread alone about why reshoring manufacturing is good. I haven't actually seen "fuck the other side" raised as one of the reasons.
It's also worth noting that a very substantial percentage of the "other side" is silently happy about all this. Anybody older than 25, hell 20, knows what I'm talking about.

Economic leftists have never liked globalization, bernie sanders was firmly against the PPP, "shop local/fuck cheaper prices" was a left wing mantra not even 5 years ago that oddly just disappeared... Karl Marx was staunchly against unchecked immigration and pointed out that communism couldn't function without strict borders.

It actually used to be a mainstream liberal position to hate globalization. Look at the opening gag of this democrat campaign ad from 2008. https://youtu.be/FiQJ9Xp0xxU?t=5

I can't find it now but I remember a popular leftist meme years ago that had a white guy sitting in a chair while a mexican fed him food, a vietnamese was sewing the shirt he was wearing, a chinese was making the chair, it somehow depicted some african kid mining the materials in his phone or something like that. Here's some along the same lines:

Point is the "you should be happy jobs are being shipped oversees and done by slave labor because you get lower prices" is NOT a normal left wing position, they're only taking it because of their prodigious amounts of TDS. Many left wingers do have a functioning memory, they remember when globalism was bad and most still feel like it is. These people didn't go anywhere, they just got silent due to the conflicting nature of woke politics. The "having a problem with importing a slave class is xenophobic" and "you have to be okay with foreign entities owning the apartment you rent because native Americans were here first or something" silenced the strictly economic and far more reasonable socialists, but they still exist and are reluctantly beaming about all this.

Also LOL at any of them trying to tell me they suddenly give a fuck about the DOW jones.

It's just part of the party reshuffle we're seeing and why there's an offputting lack of rage towards Trump compared to last time.

The ones stationed in Iraq to help topple Saddam's government did in fact die for nothing, or rather, they died for a complete fucking lie.
Please refrain from drinking Neocon/Lincoln Project cum if you wish to invoke patriotism.
Braindead insult. Both wars had extreme public support at the time because the public wanted revenge. They wanted dead sand niggers and they got them. It's easy to sit there and be smug 20 years after the bloodlust faded and hide behind the "we were misled about Iraq!" excuse. No we weren't. It's just not polite to tell the truth anymore.

"But Venezuelan detainees can challenge removal in Texas court"
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY. Just deport them already.
No, we need due process. Make sure we didn't accidentally round up an American citizen first and then deport their ass.

Turns out economic leftists didn't really exist, they all just hated Dad and wanted to live in transgender polycules.

after reading all of the replies to my post it seems the general consensus is China should be economically destroyed, no matter what, and then we should reshore manufacturing back home, I generally agree about the second part, while I'm very iffy about the former

Here is the hard reality, the Chinese and American economies are tightly, economically linked to each other, we can all make a point about how this might not have been a good decision in the long term, the Chinese will be the ones hurt more by this, no doubt, but we can also discuss how we will not be spared from the fallout.
The two objectives are intrinsically linked if we reshore american manufacturing we will by definition buy drastically less from china this will crash their economy if their economy crashes we will by definition need to make more of our own shit fundamentally neither of these things can happen without the other.

You're one of those faggots, aren't you.

They absolutely exist. The big problem is when turning everyone gay, retarded and poor became very profitable.
You're one of those faggots, aren't you.
I will absolutely be pissed if you stink up my living space, possessions and community with that shit. It's worse than when a community gains an indian diaspora and suddenly everything smells permanently of stale turmeric, at least you can consume cannabis edibles that produce no scent whatsoever.

It's also funny he mentions how envious he is of China so instead of actually building something here, he wants to violently lash out at a country on the other side of the world.
100% tariffs still won't be enough to compensate for the self-imposed labor and environmental regulatory burden in the US. There's no hope of re-shoring any manufacturing back in the US without reforming environment/labor law and good luck with that noise. It's going to take a lot more than an EO to abolish the EPA, OSHA and the minimum wage.

China's shipbuilding capacity is reported to be 232 times greater than that of the U.S.

Its maddening that the pro-war people just ignore reality.

Or the fuckers that promise to sell you sheets of steel and deliver pig iron in vaugely sheet-like format. They don't care they have your money.

China has a term for this. "Chabuduo" (差不多). It translates to "close enough" but a better translation might be "I'm a retarded lazy fucking chink and I don't want to do any work, and if I just ignore the rules and regulations they don't exist. What are you gonna do, get mad? lol close enough, white piggy."
There was a whole greentext 10 years ago about this. In a way, it's sort of fascinating to witness modern, low-trust societies.

Why are we so eager to start a full on trade war with China anyway, our largest trading partner?, if we have to decouple, then do it gradually and slowly, I think burning everything down without any adjustment/transitionary period is actually a really, really bad idea for all of us.

I assume most of the people in here are in the working or middle class like me, so it's baffling to see all of you be so eager to march along with the billionaire (who will not be as badly affected btw) into more economic hardship because "fuck the other side".
They can end it at any time by submitting.

The leftist you are talking about here basically hasn't existed since the 2000's, when Obama was elected and democrats essentially remained dominant from the late 2000's to the 2010's, a lot of the aspects of leftism that wasn't beneficiary to "The Business Elite" was basically snuffed out of mainstream discourse such as limiting immigration and opposition to free trade, the entire thing was shifted to this weird rootless cosmopolitan globalist ideology where borders do not matter anymore, cultures should all mix together, and all must trade with each other freely.

All of this primarily benefits "The Business Elite"/"The Corporations" the most, they successfully co-opted Leftism, using its good parts such as tolerance and justice, while silencing the "inconvenient parts" as justification to enforce Globalism, pretty sad state of affairs imo.

Yeah this is what I’m still confused about, minimum wage increases labor costs by such a ridiculous degree it makes absolutely no goddamn sense even with tariffs to come back to the US. That isn’t even getting into EPA, OSHA, etc. I mean everyone can say people would benefit from decent paying factory jobs, but the regulations in the US make it close to impossible for these companies to cut corners(which they don’t like) on things like quality control and worker safety. The US population wouldn’t tolerate the shit they pull in the third world even ignoring the Pennies they pay these chinks
