People have written probably a collective 50 pages in this thread alone about why reshoring manufacturing is good. I haven't actually seen "fuck the other side" raised as one of the reasons.
It's also worth noting that a very substantial percentage of the "other side" is silently
happy about all this. Anybody older than 25, hell 20, knows what I'm talking about.
Economic leftists have never liked globalization, bernie sanders was firmly against the PPP, "shop local/fuck cheaper prices" was a left wing mantra not even 5 years ago that oddly just disappeared... Karl Marx was staunchly against unchecked immigration and pointed out that communism couldn't function without strict borders.
It actually used to be a mainstream liberal position to hate globalization. Look at the opening gag of this democrat campaign ad from 2008.

I can't find it now but I remember a popular leftist meme years ago that had a white guy sitting in a chair while a mexican fed him food, a vietnamese was sewing the shirt he was wearing, a chinese was making the chair, it somehow depicted some african kid mining the materials in his phone or something like that. Here's some along the same lines:
Point is the
"you should be happy jobs are being shipped oversees and done by slave labor because you get lower prices" is NOT a normal left wing position, they're only taking it because of their prodigious amounts of TDS. Many left wingers do have a functioning memory, they remember when globalism was bad and most still feel like it is.
These people didn't go anywhere, they just got silent due to the conflicting nature of woke politics. The
"having a problem with importing a slave class is xenophobic" and
"you have to be okay with foreign entities owning the apartment you rent because native Americans were here first or something" silenced the strictly economic and far more reasonable socialists, but they still exist and are reluctantly
beaming about all this.
Also LOL at any of them trying to tell me they suddenly give a fuck about the DOW jones.
It's just part of the party reshuffle we're seeing and why there's an offputting lack of rage towards Trump compared to last time.
