You gotta change your thinking. You view women as a monolith. Mostly because you’re not one, and also probably because you don’t really interact with them. It’s really not hard to change that line of thinking. For example, when one woman says one man did or said a bad thing, you take personal offense to it because you know you don’t do that. It’s the same concept. Imagine if you did that in real life. Imagine if people were just having a random conversation about something all... idk, green people do, and you, being a green person, know that you don’t do that thing. Would you start screaming about how you don’t do that thing? No, you wouldn’t (at least I hope you wouldn’t). Same concept.
If you want to practice, read the DMZ thread (don’t post or shit-stir, just read). If you see something and it makes you upset, but you don’t partake in that action, then just assume they’re not talking about you—even if they use the term
all. People generalize; it’s how we’re wired. Hell,
you generalize women. So even if you don’t agree with what I’m saying, isn’t it a bit unfair and hypocritical to minge about them doing the same? It’d be one thing if you didn’t generalize, but you do.
Once you’re able to separate yourself and look at what’s actually being said, you realize that what they’re saying makes sense—that their arguments have merit. And once you can do that, the rest is easy. I say all this because I think that the fact that you decided to try to explain yourself means, on some fundamental level, you understand you’re not 100% in the right.
Again, I’m rooting for you. Start small—change the name, the picture—move from there, if for no other reason than to prove everyone calling you an insufferable dreg wrong. Or maybe I really am wasting my time like
@crazedaze said.
