I’m not saying “do nothing.” I’m saying if you want to play hardball, you better have infrastructure, labor plans, and federal investment ready to go, or else you’re not rebuilding manufacturing, you’re just setting the whole system on fire and praying something better rises out of the ashes.
At what point does one realize that you are just spiralling down? To everthing people bring up as a problem with the tariffs you can respond with "but what alternatives do you have?".We don't have the population, raw materials, capital, or interest in being a primarily industrial country.
Do you think companies will build factories in the US if it's cheaper to open up factories in other countries and hiring the local pajeets to run it? You will never have infrastruscture built without any incentives to do so.
Do you want the government to invest in infrastructure or manufacturing? That's nice but then you are guaranteed to operate on a loss because you can't compete with the whole "make it somewhere else for a dime and sell it to the US for a dollar" loop.
