I think his coming back has less a humiliation fetish and more of his narcissistic ego.

My reasoning: His relationship with Nintendo Yoshi (or whoever the suicidal Japanese girl is) shows us a good example of this. We don't have all the fine details but it seems like he kept bugging her to draw him his amputee kids and she told him no. Now, if he had a humiliation fetish, he would keep pestering her and getting shut down to get off to the rejection. Instead he called for a jihad against her, bad mouthing her art and mental illness for daring to tell him to fuck off. He had to post a bunch of shit saying how he was in the right and was a good boy who dindu and she was a psycho being mean for no reason.

Alex kept coming back because he believes he is more important than he actually is. He is a nobody who gets no views and no engagement on anything outside of the farms. Having his only source of validation suddenly turn on him was devastating. He doesn't keep coming back because he likes the humiliation he keeps coming back because he cannot accept that he is a loser and nobody likes him.
