In threads with broad topics, like the BlueSky thread or the Twitter thread, some users will screenshot a stupid post that someone makes and then right under that phonebook them just for making it. They don't get much dedicated attention unless they acknowledge their phonebooking or cow out enough to warrant their own thread, but the phonebook itself is a drive-by. And that's all it takes to scare most people away from the site forever. Addressing the rest of what you're saying would just be re-treading on information obscurity. The only defense the average person has from having a thread made about them and being phonebooked and monitored is looking uninteresting to the users of this site, there is no possibility of protecting your information anymore. Just look at our buddy Jobst here, he went from having basically no presence on this site to having 40 pages in a week with people pouring over his forum posts from over a decade ago because he did something stupid and made himself a source of entertainment. You can't do anything about it once you become a target, that's the point I'm trying to make and it's the reason why many people would rather this place just not exist
