MARATHON Trilogy - Official Trilogy, Forge & Anvil, and Scenarios

On the subject of things I dislike about the character design: you can tell there was a shift from the eariler trailer where the helmets all fully obscured the characters' faces to now where all of the helmets expose the character's mouth and their gay lipstick (why does everybody have lipstick it looks like shit) presumably as some kind of nod to the Security Officer's helmet (which in some of the original games' artwork exposes only his mouth Dredd style).

cyberpunk themes of identity loss and replaceability are things I really like, but it's being done by queers who don't know how to meaningfully convey these ideas to people who aren't retarded.
A big problem with trannies authoring with those themes is trannies view what is mostly a negative in the genre as good things. They want to be able to constantly body swap and make everything about themselves into a consumerist commodity where a totally different form is just a credit card swipe away. All of this is while calling themselves some form of socialist.

Eh, it's clear from the short film/trailer this isn't exactly the case.
You have the characters respawning and doing their dollar store Baseline Test, and have them not being able to recognize pictures of themselves, so it's clear they at least grasp the concept they're presenting. The issue is that it's presented in a very shallow and unsubtle way and involves people who look like Fortnite skins.
I remember one of the world artists is a troon that is still masking and literally doesn't touch glass because she's afraid of germs, do the connection yourself.
The name is ninehydras, the usual bluesky shit goes on, Im not expecting to see anything interesting coming out outside of him shilling a Onlyfans on a work account, I think it was this guy or some other dude?

I've noticed the category Marathon is up on Twitch yet 90% of streams are people using it as the tag for a marathon stream. Wonder how that'll affect the launch
You could say one of the reasons why it looks so plastic-y and tacky is because the people making it are used to looking at artstation slop and korean game modeling shit. But I suspect many are personally invested in a look that is purposefully bad to make a point about it being "punk" even if that said look is bad and cluttered only causing damage to the game.

Mm. Without checking socials I'd expect a bunch of anti-incel ranting at no one in particular; a whole bunch of "starbucks gave me gender euphoria" and retweeting political shit from other countries?

Really what they should've done was remake Halo. Arena shooter with two teams. On one team: body-surfing Runner mercenaries constantly being killed and shat out in new 3d-printed bodies with a copy of their consciousness grafted onto it. On the other: barely-sentient Pfhor warriors being commanded by a higher caste intelligence, similarly expendable. Do this and you can still have a framing device to explore pretentious themes about identity and free will while also being a game that potentially doesn't suck ass. Or you know. You could just make Apex but even shittier.
I know I'm sort of 'tisming out about this, but I really hate wasted potential.

its going to suck, let's be real, Extraction Shooters are unpopular and the Destiny community rejected it because its not Destiny

also the amount of Troons on the game, im not even that politically inclined when it comes to Vidya but Jesus Christ, the marketing thats already out there is peak Tiktok Trooncore down to the character design

If I were to judge solely by the story trailer, I’d say I kind of like the aesthetics - except for the character designs, which are trash and clearly designed to be sold in the in-game shop. They’d look way better if they were more inhuman. That said, I still like the overall aesthetic.
However, after watching the gameplay trailers, I’m starting to doubt these aesthetics will actually work in-game. They just look bad and far more generic in the actual gameplay. I can’t quite pinpoint what’s wrong, but they fucked it up. Maybe it’s the lighting, or maybe it’s something else, but either way, it’s shit.

There's an almost cel-shaded quality to the in-game graphics that makes it look flat and cartoonish. I'm not sure how to describe it properly. It almost looks like there's a filter over the game or the graphics were left unfinished.

This all pisses me off because the weird motherboard aesthetic combined with the cyberpunk themes of identity loss and replaceability are things I really like, but it's being done by queers who don't know how to meaningfully convey these ideas to people who aren't retarded

I'm like Rich Evans. Rich knows what goes into the creation of a good 80s b-movie but can't make one himself worth a damn. I know what goes into the creation of good art/product but I'm a lazy nigger.

So, another game about "ThE eViLs Of CoRpOrAtIoNs" made by people working for said corporations, with cushy, well-paid jobs the vast majority of humans can only dream of.

More importantly, who the fuck is this game even for? It's certainly not the hero shooter crowd, the character designs are ghastly and you can't goon to any of the characters, it's not the Tarkov crowd since it lacks the realism and gun porn, and it's not the general audience since the art direction is somehow worse and more generic-looking than Concord.

I look at the promo material and gameplay trailers and try to imagine what significant demographic would drop whatever multiplayer slop they're currently playing and jump onboard and come up blank.

A lot of trannies misinterpret GITS, as do retards who don't understand the concept of cyberpunk. They don't understand what the series is trying to say or convey, so they misinterpret it as "wow my dick has to be chopped off!" somehow.
Most probably haven't read or watched any GITS and their knowledge begins and ends with "the Major is hot" and "that rumor she's actually a dude" and ignore the fact the Major, in all her iterations, spends a lot of time trying to come to grips with the horrifying nature of her existence.

GITS is trying to tell a story about technology steadily eating away at our humanity, replacing flesh with metal, until it begins to take over our minds and souls as well, and all troons can do is get excited at the dystopia it presents because they can wear a woman's body like a skinsuit.

Yeah, really well said. Troons misinterpret the message of GITS and instead just look at it as a basic identity crisis and goon material. "the Major has a bodysuit and shows her thighs, I MUST CHOP MY DICK OFF!" i dont get it dude. GITS is sooo good and trannies ruined it for me lol

and this game appeals literally only to the tranny racist Deep Stone Crypt and Garden of Salvation farmers of Destiny 2 who think getting a sub 10 minute run on your raid report for a raid that's not hard or complex and 95% of people don't care about skips for or "speedrun strats" in general for, is somehow a life achievement and a personality trait. That's it, this game appeals to Destiny's most obnoxious playerbase that makeup a grand total of maybe like 100 people.

I think it was supposed to be for the Tarkov crowd at one point only with a bigger focus on cyberpunk aesthetics than obsessive milsim realism, but it's obvious somewhere along the line that they decided they wanted some of them Apex bux. Only they never fully transitioned from their original concept to a more accessible style and now the game, much like its developers, is undergoing an identity crisis.
It is LITERALLY a tranny game.

I think it's a little more artful than just propagandizing you by showing you the future and telling you "thing bad". I always got the impression that GITS was more neutral on the topic of cybernetics, showing both the ways it can benefit people and the ways it can be used to commodify and dehumanize people. It shows you the pros and cons and the philosophical dilemmas and asks "what do you think?"

You'd think so but they botched the presentation of this so hard that it might as well be a old guy looking at an old photo of himself. It comes across less as him not even remembering who he was before and having a existential crisis because of a twisted perception or modified memories, it's just that it happened long ago.
If I was shown a old picture of me I'd also be like "ho, I looked like that? huh" .

I read that as showing a level of dehumanization. Like goth sniper doesn't care because he's losing parts of himself and doesn't even know it. It's probably supposed to contrast with anime hair's mild stress response. But I agree it could've been more pronounced.
Unrelated but the unnecessary cartwheel that anime hair pulls at one point might be gayer than Concord Green Man's hot sauce.

It would've been stronger if they started losing memories of loved ones, but clearly, that's not the case, them not remembering the appearance alone of their old selves along with all the catterpillar imagery, comes off more as a troon trying to insert his own fetishes and pass it off as Transhuminsm's blandest criticism.

I do have a half-baked theory that goth sniper hesitating to kill anime hair when she started humming the piano tune might've been trying to convey that, but all I have to go off is the cinematic so 🤷‍♂️
