Christian theology thread for Christians - Deus homo factus est naturam erante, mundus renovatus est a Christo regnante

Notice that it's the UK, a country that has been struggling with Muslim immigrants for a while, with secular government favoring them over Christians.
The law is crafted to effect both Christians and Muslims street preachers equally.

Theres a lot I want to type in response, but I do not wish to reopen such a highly contentious topic, my main point is to ask that you all please put British Christians into your prayers as they seem to be going through a hard time.

The Wisdom of Bl. Fulton Sheen

Day 102 - Our Blessed Lord used an illustration of this mystery, "You cannot understand the blowing of the wind, but you obey its laws and thus harness its force; so also with the Spirit. Obey the law of the wind and it will fill your sails and carry you onward. Obey the law of the Spirit and you will know the new birth. Do not postpone relationship with this law simply because you cannot fathom its mystery intellectually.

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,

“Fear not, daughter of Zion;
behold, your king is coming,
sitting on a donkey's colt!”

Blessed Sunday of the Entrance of Our Lord into Jerusalem

By raising Lazarus from the dead before Thy passion,
Thou didst confirm the universal Resurrection, O Christ God!
Like the children with the palms of victory,
We cry out to Thee, O Vanquisher of death;
Hosanna in the Highest!
Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the Lord!

Happy Palm Sunday! Was helping out my local church to collect money during Mass today as the place was completely packed. Was my first time participating so closely in the activities of the church, wearing a surplice and all that. I have to say, it's a bit of an amusing sight, seeing a sea of hands clutching coins and notes reach out to the basket you're holding, as if there's some sort of magnet placed inside it. Overall a great experience, and probably the most memorable Palm Sunday as I had to attend three Masses in a row for the formerly stated reason, lol.

I’ve been watching a wide range of YouTuber apologists and I can only conclude that Christian Apologetics now have become a sick twisted Joke that could have only been created by Satan

Can you give some examples, I'm not doubting you, I would just like to see what you're talking about
I’m more so talking about people like Jay Dyer, Militant Thomist, Andrew Wilson Et Cetera who treat apologetics as a way to dunk on people. It not only makes a mockery of themselves, but makes a mockery of the faith itself.

Soren Kierkegaard once said that the key problem with apologetics isn’t that they lead people to God, but instead that people put the corner of their faith on one Good argument, and thus, end up worshiping apologetics and do not hold true faith. I think these people are not only a perfect example of that, but take it to the extreme by incorporating personal drama like in this video to dunk on others.

Charitable debates is one thing, but making it into a screaming match on the same level as IBS is sacrilegious

I'm REALLY not a fan of him. He feels like one of those online Orthodox people who are Orthodox solely for political reasons. It doesn't help that every time I came across him he came across as if he was speaking as a religious authority (while again, peddling politics).

IIRC, he's called Russia's aggression against Ukraine "just," and has declared the Greek Orthodox Church and the OCA to be schismatic heretics that people shouldn't attend.

I’ve already gone on many long winded rants about the orthodox, but to keep my opinion short, is that the Orthodox has gotten great PR over the past couple of years and Orthobros like dyer are single handily doing more to destroy that good reputation and push people away than any massacre or theological debate. It’s also especially frustrating since most Orthodox I’ve met online and IRL never give any of the good will or charity to other Christian denominations and will do their absolute hardest to make sure that any discussion results in a politically fueled screaming match. One of my professors was orthodox and he was one of my favorites so I refuse to believe they’re all like this, but 99% of them have the temper of a meth ridden chimp. And yes, borderline schismatic Trad Cath’s are the same

that to me is one of the biggest issues with orthodoxy, it’s heavily influenced by politics to the point where it becomes a religion of the state, not a state religion. And it becomes a political weapon both against a humble peasant like me for having the wrong opinions and the Orthodox Faithful. The war in Ukraine, no matter your opinion, should be a bleeding heart tragedy for the Orthodox, as a united apostolic church, but it’s become another tool for propaganda.

The nature of God doesn’t change with politics, and neither should your trust in God.

I prefer watching people, usually nonames, who just talk about their walk or share random thoughts on various topics, offering a faithful perspective. It kind of serves as an example of how to live with faith, as opposed to having it as some secondary activity that exists beyond your normal daily life.

Many apologetic channels are essentially content farms. Even if some videos offer a good perspective or general information, consuming too much won't do anyone any good, and I imagine people who are involved in this are living a stressful life where they put debates above leading by example.

Hmm... today I will threadshit.

The problem with Christian apologists is that they try to rationalize things that should be believed on faith. You just create Atheists by trying to do this.

There is a larger cultural understanding that blindly believing something on faith is foolish and apologism leans into this and promotes it.

Why is Christianity growing in Africa, China and India?

It spreads by creating communities that support eachother. Much of the rise of Atheism in the US/Europe came from Christianity failing to do this. The death of the social gospel and rise of prosperity gospel grifters and normalization of kicking out your kids at 18 to be homeless in conservative Christian communities. You don't convert people with epic arguments. Conversion happens when people see the virtue of it and are convinced through that.
