Possibly, but I think the bigger reason could be the pandemic because I believe that at the time there was also a larger spike of anime content/porn usage (Thanks to Netflix and TikTok which both had huge sparks of usage in ~2020 and Netflix was featuring a lot more anime content and a lot of their featured anime content is degenerate as fuck) People weren't going outside anymore, usually they would cope with being indoors all day by being on the internet chronically, masturbating and/or watching TV shows + people were already losing their shit over it (quoting this guy v)
Speaking of India, I wonder if anyone could try finding out what ethnicity lolicons are on average, that would actually be really interesting
