This is almost certainly a hoax, there is no way in hell Bethesda would shadow drop something as huge as a full Oblivion remake with zero marketing.
But is it huge ? The game certainly carries a lot of nostalgia for a certain set of people, but considering it's been almost 20 years since its release and the current video game landscape, I don't expect it to set the world on fire. Especially since Bethesda has been tanking its reputation for years. Starfield was a big fart, all things considered. I wouldn't be surprised if it sells decently, but I don't expect glowing reviews and that it will stick with people for years. Though I suppose it depends on how much they have or haven't changed with this remaster.

Even no budget indie games have trailers released. I don't think I've ever seen a AAA game be shadow dropped in the middle of the work week with not even a single trailer or comment by the dev/publisher.

I guess it's technically possible Bethesda knows an unmoddable UE5 slop version of a classic won't be well received and they're staying quiet but I really really doubt it.

Frankly even some of these alleged screenshots look AI generated to me, I think it's fake.

Sure fair enough. The only comparison I have is Hi-Fi Rush which was also shadowdroped much to critical success. Maybe that is also the strategy here. Drop it suddenly and people will inevitably pay attention.

Fucking, what? Is the guy retarded? It's terrible.

I still don't even really believe this shit exists. It feels fake as fuck. Bethesda announces things close to release USUALLY but they'd be building hype for a month or two at least.

I genuinely feel like this is journalist gay ops.
I have no clue, but he had this entire temper tantrum that people considered it "woke" and made a review of it to spite them. He even made a really petty video where all he does is say "Avowed is BAD because it is WOKE" over and over for 40 minutes or something of that effect(he has done this before when his clitty was leaking btw). That review of his was also mediocre and not very interesting, same as his Outer Worlds review compared to others who made similar video essays, it seems his only strength is making extremely long and autistic Bethesda videos and nothing else.
BTW he has already forgotten about the game as well, once he got his little seething session out of his system. As of now, truly nobody remembers this game.
Maybe hes working on his next 12 hour "I like morrowind more" video.
No, he is making a video where he tests every single weapon in Fallout 3 and New Vegas and does some autistic analysis of it. Why he's doing this when this information has already been made public thanks to GECK and the wiki for over a decade now, I have no clue. Maybe he needs a long, but low effort Fallout video to pay off his new house or something.

Absolutely fucking pathetic. Another centrist grifter to add to the pile.
Even more pathetic is that I don't even think his butt buddy Private Sessions will even make a similar video himself since nobody cares about Avowed anymore. He usually makes videos on the same game as Pat does, sometimes they even co-operate and make a video together like their Fallout 76 series(highly recommend both Pat and Sessions video btw) so him not making a short, low effort review of Avowed is very telling. This is why people who hate Obsidian still crying about the game are just as delusional as Pat was for the month or so he tried to own the trolls.

spite is a hell of a motivator
They're literally giving the bethesdadrones what they won't stop bitching about. if anything they'd drop support for the remake out of spite, somehow. idk how but I'm the bethesdadrones will think of something.

But out of all the games to remake though why Oblivion? or... any of their gamebryo engine games, and not the already unmoddable elephant in the room that is Redguard!? It even features a BLACK for those sweet DEI points!

Perhaps it's for the best they aren't willing to mess with Redguard.

Is Redguard even any good? I've always heard that it wasn't really worth playing and not a lot of people played it at release.

What video are you referring to?

A while ago I made a joke speculation that TES6 is actually a Redguard remake (or "reimagining" lmao) but there's an outlandish possibility that it's actually the case. Think about it - the general region lines up, the entire industry is forcing niggers into everything, and it's the one that got away from Todd. He might consider it a petty career capstone to turn his biggest failure into a success. If this game came out in 2018 instead of FO76, it probably would have done well enough, but in the post-Starfield Year of our Lord 2025 where AC Shadows ate shit on the global stage and TND is steadily rising, I think that even a studio as dented as Bethesda realizes that they can't make TES: Wakanda a hit.

I paid for Oblivion in Steam like 14 years ago.
I don't care for this slop shit.
I paid for it three times, but owned four copies. Two physical, two digital.
First one was free. 2006 Christmas gift. Collector's edition. Box fell apart over the years, but I still have the Pocket Guide to the Empire.
Second was on Steam. Didn't get much out of it, because Skyrim was the current TES hotness at that time.
Third... was also on Steam after I abandoned my first account in disgust. Gaymergayte and Trump getting elected did horrible, irreversible damage to the majority of people I knew. They never recovered.
Fourth was me hunting down another physical copy of the CE which now rests proudly on a shelf above my desk, alongside several other big boxes. Almost mint condition, and it was only $40. Once every few months I give the box cover a rub. It's a nice, embossed cover. Feels good.
