I can't believe they actually made Marathon about running, so far as to call the characters "Runners". Modern game devs are completely out of touch.

See I hated the term "runner" because it sounded insultingly generic for a series as unique as Marathon but now that you've brought this to my attention I hate it even more.I can't believe they actually made Marathon about running, so far as to call the characters "Runners". Bethesda can make money just not good games. Bungie can't do anything.
I completely agree, I was interested until I heard a battle pass you have to pay for and then an additional 40 bucks you have to pay for the game. If I get invited into the playtest, and enjoy what I play I might buy it.Was interested until I read that it wasn't free to play.
No way this is worth any amount of money when there are better f2p fps out there.
Oh totally, the amount of backstory its autistic in its scale, more so when you consider it was a small team and not an army of 4chinners who wrote it. The alien names are ridiculously 90's scifi sounding. The first Marathon, especially, was a labor of love that they put way, way too much effort into for what was essentially a Doom clone.
Helldivers already done that. Will Bungie be able to do what CoD failed to do, by bringing the extraction shooter genre to the mainstream?
I barely paid attention to that cinematic trailer they made, were there any pronouns and shit? or you mean because of the style alone?I want it to be good. But the tranny marks are all over this game.
Into the trash it goes then, AFAIK there's no campaign or story modeWas interested until I read that it wasn't free to play.
I just want cyberpunk in a world that feels worn and real, why is that so much to ask for these days? The aesthetics suck.
The world seems to be going for a Neil Blomcamp clean, hyper industrial sci-fi look. Kind of like Death Stranding, NeoTokyo, Starfield, or The Surge.
That's sort of overdone in its own right.I just want cyberpunk in a world that feels worn and real, why is that so much to ask for these days?
Ruiner was gritty, but I wouldn't call the world worn or real. It feels like cyberpunk 2077, where everything is now metal and there's neon lights everywhereThat's sort of overdone in its own right.
Just play Ruiner homes.
Yeah but it was cool.Ruiner was gritty, but I wouldn't call the world worn or real. It feels like cyberpunk 2077, where everything is now metal and there's neon lights everywhere
Compare the staff that worked on those masterpieces to the staff currently in charge of majority of western game projects and you'll have your answer immediately.I just want cyberpunk in a world that feels worn and real, why is that so much to ask for these days?
Ghost in the shell was fun. It actually felt like it could be real and like detail was put into it. Same with Cyber City Oedo. I honestly miss this type of AnimeCompare the staff that worked on those masterpieces to the staff currently in charge of majority of western game projects and you'll have your answer immediately.
I forget where I read it (might be this thread) it's one game mode with 4 maps and around 6 classes? I forget, but it's a shockingly low amount of content for a full price AAA game.Is what they showed in the trailer all there is? Just one game mode?
I know the feel. Off topic, but this was part of the drive for my own game projects. "80s cyberpunk anime" wasn't cars driving into a wireframe sunset with a VHS filter. The synth soundtrack is the only part they seem to get right.I just want cyberpunk in a world that feels worn and real, why is that so much to ask for these days?
Apex legends launched as f2p with the same amount of content and then became billion dollar cashcow.but it's a shockingly low amount of content for a full price AAA game
