I was having a conversation with a coworker about the allegations against Neil Gaiman.Harry Potter is the new Mein Kampf.
For those who didn't read the article, the allegations include repeated violent vaginal and anal rape, violent anal fingering, pissing on his hand and forcing a 20 year old to lick it off, and raping an employee in front of his six year old son - who then started calling that employee a "slave," to Gaiman's apparent amusement. There have been multiple women who have come forward with allegations of sexual assault and rape.
So there I was, talking to my coworker about these allegations and how sickening they are, and how gross it was to read the detailed article, especially considering how much of a fan I used to be of his writing. And she deadass goes "Oh, that's just like how it was for me to find out that JK Rowling is such a gross person!"
Oh sure, by all means, let's compare violent anal rape and forced piss-licking in front of a child to "she said some mean things online about how men aren't women". It's totally the same thing, equally as horrible and worthy of condemnation.
