General Wrestling Discussion

agreed, as long as TKO continues to trust guys who understand wrestling with the booking like they are doing now ill be generally happy, I agree with most of what Triple H is doing and the few things that I disagree with tend to be minor or "I could see where they were going with this, but that could have gone better" type of deal, while I would love a viable competitor to WWE I just don't see much interests from anyone who has a enough funding to go against them, I mean WCW got big partially due to Vince being retarded the mid-90s and that was just as bad as the late 2010s,
I pretty much agree with this. Even if there's a storyline I don't care too much about, it's usually not unwatchable garbage. There was a lot of that in the late Vince era. I remember the PPV where Miz got eaten by zombies. I turned it off right after that, and I had been looking forward to the main event too. I just wasn't in the mood to keep watching after that.

I do wish Chad Gable had beaten Gunther. I like Sami and I loved their WrestleMania match, but I still think they had a chance to make a huge babyface star out of Chad Gable that they just missed. Looking forward to his match on Saturday though.

I think another part of the hate for Charlotte just being silver plattered another wm title shot is that she's part of that wave of wrestlers that are being aged out but still hold back some potentially great up and comers? Let's face it when it comes to womens wrestling and age you have to deduct ten years from a man with a couple exceptions with say Asuka who's in her 40s.

Yeah, Gables booking is honestly the biggest L WWE had as of late, I could easily see him taking a huge role as a heel main eventer like Kurt Angle was from 2000-2005 he would actually be one of my picks to dethrone Cody at some point if Cena doesn’t

AEW are running Arena Mexico in June. The first US promoter to tape a show there.
this could turn out interesting with Mox and other heavy bleeders in the mix
there's been times in the past when promotions other than CMLL have worked Arena Mexico, and this was when things got too out-of-hand for Arena Mexico management (CMLL) so they called an audible and tried to shut the match down

How long has she officially been known as "Steph" McMahon?

The Horsewomen, especially Charlotte, have largely gatekept the woman's division for years. Bianca, Alexa, and Asuka were the exceptions, though even Asuka got severely knecapped after she lost her streak. Charlotte killed Rhea's momentum the first time and she would have remained irrelevant if not for the "dommy mommy goth gf" pandering. Shayna is (or was) really good and got buried by the other women, Lacey never got a chance and now show's her asshole for pennies, Nikki never got a faiir shake outside her meme gimmick and short MITB cash-in reign.

We've only seen more women break through now because the Horses are gone. Bayley is the single exception, and while she's boring as plain toast and water, she at least puts people over. We wouldn't have Liv, Iyo, or Tiffy at the top if the four horsewomen were still around in full force. Charlotte is a constant reminder. She's really great when she gives a damn, but more often than not she's being a reckless bitch in the ring and riffing her dad's promos.

I'll throw another name in there for aged out and that's Alexa, not sure if posted it here back around the rumble but the cutsey pigtail goth girl look doesn't gel well when you're the type who hits the wall hard in her 30s like she does all that makeup on and it reminds me of baby Jane hudson.

this, I don't want WWE to be a monopoly but what else is there really, AEW makes a complete mockery of wrestling and is boring as shit to watch, you cant even say AEW is the Pepsi of Wrestling because AEW doesn't make money, Pepsi even as number 2 can at least make a profit on their soda, these fucking Vanilla Midgets Tony puts on just Can't draw.
WWE nearly went bankrupt in the nineties also the idea of the WWE not making a mockery of wrestling since the end of the Hulkamania era is just absurd

My bet is that some marketing person for Fanatics went "Hey, 'Stephanie' is too many syllables. Shorten it, and 'Steph' rolls off the tongue better." It's like why "Vincent McMahon" would seem awkward compared to "Vince."

The question now is will the likes of Rhea go the route of Bayley or Charlotte. How she got added to the WM title match didn't do her character any favors as it made her come off as "Goth Charlotte."

You also have to wonder if some NXT women (Jordynne, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer) will be called up sooner than later just to hotshot dream matches.

I abhor the way she got added, but Shawn did it at Mania 20 IIRC and everyone loved it. Rhea is dogshit as a babyface and without Dom, but if she keeps wearing the thigh harness to make her ass look fat she'll remain over like rover (until Vaquer is called up and ass-mogs her).

Ok, not that bad. seems like a regular guy that felt Harris wasn't a good nominee, so he voted for Trump. Pretty reasonable i'd say. Let's see what Reddit has to say.

I'm getting ready to go check out aew dynamite curious if they can fill the Fenway MGM. I expect tony to be coked up giving raw raw we beat WCW speeches. Hoping its a good night
Story wise the show was ass but compared to big Bu$$iness last year smaller venue was a lot smarter and the energy levels were higher vs TD.

The venue would be great for NJPW or NXT next time they run boston. Im gonna rewatch the ep to hear commentary but for 60 bucks for floor seats can't complain.
