Most likely, however the additional legal fees to the lawyers is what will sting the most. Even if he does win the appeal, it'll probably only reduce the amount he owes substantially. He'll still have to pay a good amount to King Billy.

I get where you're coming from but Karl wasn't coming at this from a free-speech absolutist position, he hardly seemed to view it as even about his comments on Apollo Legend at all, in this video he pretty much relitigates his defense of "Well your honor, how can I defame him if he cheats at Donkey Kong?" Even if you agree what he said isn't unreasonable, it is defamatory when there's no proof AL blamed Billy, and Karl had a platform big enough to spread such a claim.

It costs an arm and a leg to ship Billys award winning hot sauce to where I live so I had to think of another way to honor the Video Game Player of the Century. I booted up Donkey Kong (on MAME lol) and played for about 32 minutes and 8 seconds (the length of Karls defense video).
Needless to say I preformed incredibly poorly. Pretty sure I was way better at this when I was an 8 year old. I invite any of you to do the same and clear the low bar of 19500. I hope merciful Billy is proud of my for having fun with his favorite video game.
Does anyone know Karl's Donkey Kong score? I remember him livestreaming the game at somepoint just for the hell of it. I'd imagine it was early on in the Billy saga.
Also just to prove that Donkey Kong is a real man's game, and Goldeneye speedrunning is for toddlers, I beat Jobst's DAM agent time on my first attempt. Easy stuff really.
