The biggest part of the sum, $300 000 for non-economic loss and $40 000 interest on that, was because Karl was basically pumping out an endless stream of monetized videos about Billy, even making fun of Mitchell's complaint. If he had responded to the revelation that he was wrong by just deleting his video, rather than going on a full-retarded public crusade, maybe the nebulous deniability of the suit's central claim would have allowed him to weasel his way out of it.
