I gotta say even phone booking random YouTubers is a pretty outdated tactic from about 10 years ago. What are they going to do? Call the car dealership or warehouse these goobers work at and say they think women should have jiggle physics in gaming? Anyway this is another example of why she is simply unemployable as a journalist, she was going to do this (hopefully outside of civil court) with the sweet baby detected discord, it's clearly inappropriate for a journalist for a sizeable publication to act like this much less an editor there is no reason to include them other then her and her discord of freaks wanting their names in the public record.

Of fucking course the very first thing to bring up in a serious legal document is a controversy that's more than a decade old at this point and that has faded from most people's memories. Sweety, the Culture War still rages on; however, the Gamergate battle is long gone and mostly forgotten, you can still perfectly crybully your way into relevancy without hitching your wagon to an Internet kerfuffle that didn't affect you in any way back then (I'd like to remind people that, despite her age, former position as a games journo, and indirect implications about how she was there, she wasn't a part of it on any shape or form since she didn't start writing for videogame rags until 2019 or so). This reminds me of her 2016 awful dissertation that immediately after an abstract that doesn't explain what the fuck the paper was about jumped into a Gamergate rant at the introduction:

As a note, her dissertation wasn't about videogame journalism, harassment, online controversies, feminism, politics, social media or even videogames themselves if we're being honest; it was only very tangentially related to vague "queer" and "indie" "subcultures", which wasn't the main focus of Gamergate by Alyssa's own admission in said dissertation, the historical revisionism about identity politics didn't come into being until a few years later.
Her rabid obsession with a cultural event that managed to completely pass her by is almost endearing in a way. You don't witness stolen valor about an Internet slapfight every day.
