I was under the impression this only referred to monitisation as I recall some whiny loser a few years back saying his video and channel were being banned on youtube...well they wernt because his channel and video was right there and we were watching it but that to him not being able to monitise his video was bascially the same thing, its not. And dont get me wrong not saying I agree with demonitisation but to act as if that is akin to being censored when there are cases in the world like of artist Ai Weiwei who is actively being censored by the government...just pissed me off.

In the UK if you do not support the T in every insane thing they say (like trying to say transwomen are biological women) you're bascially treated as if you are marching them to the gulag which is why many people, myself included, even those in the LGB community no longer support trans rights (im talking the extra rights, not the basic human rights everyone has but insist they dont) which is why the ruling this week has gotten so much support even from leftists. The funniest thing is it'll all be in service of nothing when YouTube comes up with some new rule that retroactively applies to all content on the platform. It's bending the knee so your executioner can more comfortably aim at your head.

As with most things, what I absolutely cannot stand is the hypocrisy of how YouTube operates. Creator-run channels (especially smaller ones) have to constantly butcher their content just on the off chance the YouTube autobots detect some no-no words, but there is absolutely no issue with something like WAP by Cardi B being on Google's platform, completely uncensored with no kind of age-gating.

Even the video for WAP which features the radio edit lyrics is practically softcore porn (yes I know I sound like an old man but it is vile), but because she belongs to a big record label and gets hundreds of millions of views Google is perfectly happy to sit back and let the ad revenue pour in.

I hate censorship on principle but I hate two-tiered justice systems even more, where the rules are only applied to those who don't serve Neal Mohan's interests.
