Nintendo Switch 2 (WIP) - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

I wish all companies would do this. Making IP rights expire every 5 years without new content would light a fire under their asses.
If anything, I'd rather ban the use of IP once every part of the original team behind it has died/retired. Allowing everyone to use an IP just means you need to wade through a ton of shit with it and no real story.

What does need to go away are gameplay patents. And guess which company held a patent for a sanity bar that fucked everyone else who wanted to use this system?

Retired maybe but waiting a literal lifetime is too much. Patent shenanigans are crazy too, Bandai stopped everyone from using loading minigames.

So is anyone here trying to get a switch 2 on thursday? Is there a time the preorders go live? I am going to try through bestbuy, walmart, and gamestop online since I work (to pay for my switch)

Not really. Every game gets rubbish DLC that would cover that. So the crappy DLC you had to pay for.

But ignoring that, every good game that has come out in recent time has had longer than 5 years.

Being forced to release stuff constantly is how Pokemon’s issues happen etc

If anything what you’d want to do is not have to have them make stuff every 5 years and not give them a window of a few years to make them

Such of a visual upgrade!

Jesus christ, even Mario is loosing it's visual identity
  • Normal looking trees
  • Heavy fog that looks like a genric RPG and/or open world game by some indie dev
  • DARK DARK DARK
  • Clashing colors that have that "safe for toddlers" look like every mobile garbage game
It's official... Nintendo has died.

I looked up some info on the hardware design lead for the Switch 2:
Tetsuya Sasaki is the General Manager of Nintendo's Technology Development Division, as well as the Representative Director of Nintendo Systems. He joined the company at Nintendo EAD and originally provided technical and tool support for Nintendo 64 and GameCube titles, later being in charge of software applications such as the Internet Browsers for both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
Homebrewbros, we won…

Fuck no. Why would you? What is there to play? Mario Kart? Then you gotta wait until Donkey Kong a month later. Then it's when ever the hell Air Riders comes out and thats it. There is no reason to be an early adopter of this thing. You might as well wait until Feb 26 when they'll do the annual everything Direct. Besides, this could be a 3DS situation and you'll get a discount and all the tendies will have beta tested the games for you.
Just get Metroid or go back and try some of the other Switch games

EDIT: I keep forgetting about cripple basketball. That game is the most forgettable shit. I miss ARMS Nintensissters.

Hey, the Donkey Kong gave me a feeling of Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 !

Aaaand that's the only that really marked me, the rest was just meh. I was expecting a game that pushed the Switch 2 to it's best, a technical masterpiece but it's just slop I guess ? Even the Pokemon, we can see the damn lazyness with how the building look.

Everything is too costly and not interesting enough to make me buy it.

Iwata took a pay >cut< to help out other people/the company. Does anyone believe the current crop would take a pay cut to help out the company? Victory has defeated Nintendo.

I think we understand now why Goytendo went after the Switch emulators so harshly... because that's what the Switch 2 has to do in order to play Switch 1 games. Meaning Switch 2 might as well be cracked at launch. I can't wait to Yar Har Fiddle Dee Dee all the way across the sea.

Still sounds better than me dying of old age before we get another Star Fox.
