Another pilot's out, now being
The Gaslight District from GLITCH Studios, was premiered as a stream but ended a few minutes ago. I have to say, it's quite the tonal whiplash from TDAC, that's for sure. Worldbuilding's intriguing, voice acting's pretty good, and the overall set up of the pilot kept me in my seat the whole time. Have to say, it's a promising pilot. More out there than whatever Izzzyzzz is concocting.
Though, the only nitpick I have of it is Mel's VA. Sounds like I'm hearing a comic dub VA than a VA integrated into the world. I suppose it make sense since, from what I could get from the pilot, she's a human compared to the rest of the society, who are disfigured and skeletal-like. You can tell from one scene where her human skin is shown through her disguise, so from that alone I can discern it's one of those "Human tries to fit into a society of individuals completely different from them in order to not get caught." sort of stories but... that's my thought. Would like to hear what y'all think of this.
And yes, they immediately pulled up in the trademark Makeship plushies after the episode ended.
