Tbf I got in too deep when I was first learning about this stuff, this'd be a "good" moment for a TMI but I think the way I write about it speaks for itself. Like, I can't really humor the idea that it'd (also) be for a fungible resource because that's how I came to understand "elite" priority hierarchies - why care much about oil if you have infinite money? I'm a bit narrow-minded about it.

So understand, in the post-war era, the jews were known to be a very left wing faction in American politics. Research papers were even published to this effect, noting that whites in the elite have a tendency to trend very conservative, while jews in the elite oddly bucked this trend and went liberal.

The paper notes these jews are highly significant and tend to have roles in media and public-interest professions, and had a tremendous influence over the culture. If the culture has gone in a left wing direction, we know who's responsible.
Anyway a very significant shift in this trend occurred in the 1970's/1980's, a group of jewish intellectuals, dissatisfied by Stalin's bloodthirsty version of communism, began to make overtures to the right. These people were especially concerned about the fate of Israel in the Middle East.

American intellectuals were extremely happy about this rightward motion, because to them, this was evidence jews were starting to truly assimilate into American culture. The right happily accepted them. In the 80's they made a "Devil's bargain" with the Republicans:
we will give you money, media, and intellectual support, in return you will do our bidding overseas. They swept into line behind Reagan, but forced him to accept the poison pill of George H.W. Bush as his Vice President. Thanks to this development, Reagan got a massive landlide victory in 1984 and was cemented into history as a legendary political figure.
These 'neoconservative' jews were known to be extremely left wing on all issues. Gun control, borders, abortion, death penalty, you name it. But they were absolutely fanatical about wars in the Middle East. After Reagan, they got their lapdog HW Bush in, and they got the Gulf War. The HW presidency was short lived, because he spurned the jews on settlements.

They flipped on him, and ushered him out of office as a 1 termer. At this point, their muscle should be clear. They can make and break presidents.
All throughout the 1990's, the neocon jews created various think tanks, policy institutes, and lobby groups to pressure for wars in the Middle East. Under their tutelage the Republicans became the "war party", an abberation since historically Republicans were known for ending wars rather than starting them. Pat Buchanan tried to reel the Republicans back to their roots, and was accused of being an anti-semite and scoured out of polite politics. By the late 1990s, a neoconservative think tank named
PNAC had released detailed invasion plans of every Middle Eastern country that threatened Israel, and were lobbying for war. Their plans were quite insane, they auspiciously called for a "pearl harbor style event" to goad Americans into war.

Israel was facing a dire situation in the Middle East. Their biggest pressing threat were the
ba'athist governments, Iraq and Syria, which sought to unite the entire arab world against Israel. Prominent neocons such as Richard Perl and Douglas Feith were writing about the imminent necessity of taking out Iraq, which had a very powerful military that could take down Israel in a matter of days.
When George Bush the younger was elected, he placed these neocons into positions within the Defense Department and intelligence establishment. They created a secret illegal office in the Pentagon known as the "
Office of Special Plans" which was unsupervised, and had a direct line to the president. Ryan Dawson believes this is where they coordinated the 9/11 attacks. The office was secretly meeting with Israeli generals. Israel was conducting the largest foreign spying campaign in American history at this time with intelligence agents crawling all over the East Coast. They even lived next door to the hijackers keeping tabs on them. (When questioned about this, they claimed they spied on all arab groups in a similar way.)
Regardless of what you think about 9/11, it's certainly the case that after 9/11 this office was responsible for a deluge of false intelligence reports linking the attacks to Iraq. They claimed, for example, that Saddam was producing weapons-grade anthrax in underground laboratories. Many people forget that shortly after 9/11 there were anthrax attacks on American congressmen and newspeople, ostensibly sent by the hijackers themselves. Israeli intelligence claimed they witnessed anthrax being passed by Iraqi security officials to the hijackers in a meeting in Prague, but this meeting never happened. This was the basis for the UN security authorization for the Iraq War.
In order to generate this war, they stirred up all sorts of crazy outlandish claims. Iraq was working on a nuclear weapon, Iraq was torturing children to death, Iraq was gassing people in gas chambers. These reports were often lifted word-for-word from PNAC material from 5 years previous, and were disseminated to jewish media talking heads.
War for oil? Of course the oil was part of it, but the suggestion is ridiculous. Oil exports from Iraq did not significantly increase after the Iraq War. The people excusing it as a "war for oil" were mainly General Wesley Clark and Noam Chomsky, both jewish and looking to obfuscate the Israeli role. Look who was pushing for the war in the years prior, who was generating the false intelligence reports, who was lying to get the war pushed through? It was the zionist neocons.
In fact, it wasn't supposed to be limited to Iraq, the original plan was for a much larger invasion of the entire middle east.

It's not Osama bin Laden; it is the cauldron of political oppression, religious intolerance, and social ruin in the Arab-Islamic world". They wanted Libya, they wanted Syria, they wanted the big prize Iran even back then. It's only because popular sentiment turned strongly against the Iraq War that their strategy was forced to change from outright invasion, to regime-change. After that time, they have just continued with their original plan. Regime-changing Syria, regime-changing Libya, bombing Lebanon into the stone age, now their sights are focused on Iran.
How do they feel about Trump?
The neocons strongly opposed him in his first term, and all switched sides to support Hillary. The "Never Trump" movement was all jewish neocons, including little Benny Shapiro himself. In Trump's 2nd term he basically threw himself head over heels for Israel and will do whatever they desire. Likely trading a rollback of progressive social shit in the US for an Iran war. The feelings of the neocons are immaterial at this point, they're too old to matter and their brand is too toxic. But Trump's presidency is fairly similar to Reagan. The overwhelming election victory, the 'legendary aura', and the poison pill VP who will do the neocon's bidding next time around.
