General Wrestling Discussion

I think to explain further, I don't think you'd have to be a good or a bad wrestler to make a good heel. I'm not saying Hogan was a bad wrestler but his ability to move the crowd in his palm was and is still unmatched, Real American or Hollywood.
Even when he was "a face", I've never been impressed with Cena's character. I've honestly thought he was a heel for years now, because that's how he's acted for years now, inserting himself into title matches undeserved, and expecting to be the main event "just because he's John Cena," Hogan is actually a pretty apt comparison because I disliked a lot of his showings where I was probably supposed to like him for similar reasons. (Unrelated, everybody turning on Hogan for his leaked personal opinions, made me like him more.)

I guess I'm just a mark.

NXT Stand & Deliver predictions:
- Cora and Roxanne
- DarkState
- Frazer and Axiom
- Sol Ruca
- Ricky Saints
- Giulia
- Oba Femi

WrestleMania 41 Night One:
- Jey
- New Day
- Rey (or whoever replaces Rey if he is injured)
- Jade
- Jacob Fatu
- Tiffy
- Rollins

WrestleMania 41 Night Two:
- IYO
- Bayley and Lyra
- Styles
- Dom
- Priest
- Orton
- Cena
These were my predictions for Mania weekend.
- Stand & Deliver: 4/7 correct. I went with some wishful thinking rather than who I actually thought would win. I wanted Fraxiom to retain (though it looks like they'll be called up to the main roster so they had to lose) and Giulia to win back the title. The stupid angle of Roxanne walking out on Cora cost me that pick.
- WM Night One: 6/7 correct. Only one I got wrong was El Grande Americano winning, I thought they would go with the big unmasking moment there.
- WM Night Two: 5/7 correct. For whatever reason I was convinced Priest was winning because Triple H likes him so much, but I'm glad to be wrong because Drew needed that win more. Styles losing is just retarded, I didn't think that was happening.

Is Hendry even buried? It's probably a no shit orton was going to win. So anytime Austin stunnered someone after celebrating a segment/match It's a burial? Hendry is a meme character so losses won't phase him. It would be one thing if it Moose or AJ if he was in TNA.
Fuck no he's not, I don't think it affects him in the slightest. With no time to build a new match, any match was going to be unserious and low stakes. So why not bring out the meme man, take advantage of the partnership. Let them do a few spots, RKO(s) outta nowhere, the show goes on. I was thoroughly sports entertained.

Couldnt watch it live but watched it this morning.

Trogdor the devourer of estrogen was back, looks like with mommy to their right. Curiously no dad.....

The women's triple threat was fantastic loads of great spots and blew night ones opening out of the water. Iyo winning was the correct result.

Priest and MacIntyre was a lot better than I expected. Good spots again and with Macintyre winning was the right result, Drew shitposting again is great!

Fatal four was great, but not too surprising with everyone in it. Great spots and Breaker keeps trying to kill Carlito. Dom winning over Finn keeps the JD breakup going and can spin into a nice feud for the two of them. The cheers Dom got was massive!

Popped hard for Hendry, and he gave a good showing, he is gonna be so over in WWE once he gets in there.

The AJ / Logan match I skipped most of it, I felt it was a forgone conclusion that Logan was winning, but it did forward the Cross / AJ feud story so am looking to see where that goes.

Marked out for Becky's return, It was gonna be obvious the second she came out that she and Lyra were winning. I get the feeling that Lyra was winning regardless of Becky but sad that Bailey got shunted. It feels like a repeat of the Bianca and Naomi storyline again however so I'm getting the pang of lazy story writing. I think its gonna be Lyra being the attacker this time with Bailey and her fighting over the IC title.

The Main event, loved Cena's entrance, the name on the black field is great. Cody had his usual cool pomp so nothing unusual there. Travis scott took so much out of the match. Could have done ANYTHING ELSE but no a dime a dozen cunt rapper was put in the main event. Could have had Cena pull the old doctor of thuganomics chain from somewhere and level Cody but no a rapper is just as good.

Cena bodying the journo scum was great! I am looking forward to the chase to try get the title from him over the rest of the year. I can see punk taking it back near the end of the year and holding it into Wrestlemania as the Rumble is speculated to be in Suadi next year would make sense for him not to be there.

Much better night 2!

I would have dropped AJ - Logan or Randy - Hendry for the Smackdown tag TLC cause that would have blown the roof off the place.

Overall no where near the level of the previous two Mania's but still good.

They're trying to recapture the glory of when they involved Tyson but not realizing it's not the pre-2000s anymore where there were a ton of truly massive stars that would make people otherwise uninterested tune in. Pop culture is incredibly fragmented due to the internet and nobody really gives a fuck about someone like Travis Scott except rap music addicted gen alpha and zoomers.
WWE is desperate to pander to the "Urban audience" and by proxy third world shit holes like India. They're listening to modern marketing companies and all they offer is random black rapper and youtube guy. Logan Paul is unironically the biggest celebrity they had on the show if you don't include Austin. Even if he's an asshole they hate people know of the Logan brothers and see Prime drinks every where they go. You can argue there are no modern celebrities but they used to bring in big TV stars and actors and get them in the ring. Baywatch was huge when Pamela Anderson appeared and now we have some random dude from CSI season 5 with a new episode on netflix soon? At least get some asshole from Marvel. Hugh Jackman would get a pop at least and you could believe him hitting a heel.
People miss wrestlemania being a wrestlemania and new stars being pushed and not the same 35/40 year Olds who got beat by indie jobbers.
Wrestling doesn't have any new stars. The few that start to shine end up being held down by having no one worth wrestling. Bron Breaker is a Steiner through and through. He is money and you could hitch your wagon to him as a main eventer but he's against dorks like Dom, the green power ranger and gay pride cosplaying as a demon. How is he supposed to get over in stories when he's fighting pedo man, a WCW reject and an Irish homosexual that's smaller than most the kids he preys on? AJ styles has always been amazing, he can put out some great matches but he's against Logan Paul, who isn't a bad wrestler but his gimmick is constantly focusing on the camera instead of wrestling. And Logan Paul being new to wrestling makes AJ look like a chump for losing to him. Night 2 was all the stars and none of them had compelling matches.

The main event is a joke. Coconut niggers, Daddy's boy wearing a cringe skull mask of his neck tattoo and the gayest man on the planet. These aren't stars. Cena is a star and they even fuck up with him. They remove his entrance video and frame it to walk out like he's angry while some stupid woman scurries around behind him picking up trash. She ruined the shot and it was all he had because over half of this show is just walking to the ring instead of wrestling.

WWE's channel has highlights and all the entrances uploaded. Austin's cuts from him driving round the ring to being in it so they edited out the crash. If they get sued Austin deserves it, he drives too fast and slams on the brakes. Wasn't safe driving in the small space.

Rollins will take the title off Yeetman.
That'd be OK.

My prediction (or at least what I'd do as the writer, given that Yeetman seems to be the most popular guy right now):

Cena stays for a bit. Trolls the other wrestlers and dares them to try and beat him. Can you rise to the occasion?

Cody searches his soul and is like, "I love John Cena too much. I couldn't strike him down, because he is my hero." Can Cody overcome his love and respect for the man who made him what he is today?

Whole bunch of faces enter the spotlight, join Team Cody, wrestle Cena. Nobody can touch the champ; one after another they fall.

Enter Yeetman. Yeetman and Cody share a special bond. Yeetman saved Cody at Wrestlemania XL, and helped Finish The Story. Cody gave Yeetman his Yeet catchphrase, and started Generation Yeet. Yeetman is champion, but he's still haunted by Gunther, he still has some self-doubt. Can I do it, uce? I'm just some kid from the West Coast. "Don't worry Yeetman" Cody says. "The power is inside you" or something, I dunno. Inspirational speech where Cody puts Yeetman over, and we establish that Cody is to Yeetman what Cena was to Cody.

Last chance to beat Cena. Yeetman steps up. Maybe it's a tagteam, Yeet and Cody, or maybe it's just straight Yeet. Either way, Yeetman pulls out all the superkicks he knows, defeats Cena, and the WWE Universe retains their history. Cena smiles, because that's what he wanted - he turned heel because he wanted to make sure that after he was gone, somebody would be able to rise to the occasion. Yeet was the guy, uce. He dug deep and proved he could do it. (alternatively, Cody turns heel to beat Cena, and Yeetman has to take over Team Cody, vowing to restore honor to the WWE)

Yeet can lose the title quick after that, because he's not really ready (workwise) for a consistent main card status, but he seems like the natural successor to Cody, AND he's got all the traits that made Cena, Cena.

That Cena match was so bad it killed the Pope.
lol, wonderful.

"Hey Snek, where were you when you learned the Pope died?"

Oh, I was just shitposting on the General Wrestling Discussion thread on Kiwifarms, and saw a joke about Cena's awful performance at Wrestlemania...

I imagine cena is going to come out on raw and say hes doing a part timer schedule, he wont be wrestling any raws or smack downs and wont be doing any B shows.

that means what,

Money in the bank
and
Summer slam

hell win at MitB against cody setting up whomever at summer slam, hell even do whatever saudi blood money event they have specifically because he just wants the money. between MitB and summer slam someone will attack Cena for trying to ruin wrestling, and he will be cashed in on, and finally he will do the thing ive been wondering why champions never do when cashed in on, he will immediately get himself disqualified thus losing the match but keeping the title.

hell then lose to whomever WWEs chosen babyface is at Summerslam,

im assuming there will be some kind of team rock vs team wwe for survivor series.

I didn't watch Wrestlemania but hearing about the main event ending makes me glad that I didn't. Even Vince didn't book it that retardedly
It’s not as bad as people are saying. I sat through Wrestlmania 32. Now that was a shitty ending. Vince definitely had his stinkers though.

In what world is a guy from tiny TNA getting a match in WrestleMania against a respectable and quality opponent and getting a massive stadium singing your song "getting buried"?

It's the mindset where people can't simply lose a match and move on, they have to be BURIED KWAB IN DA MUD! it's the same shit as people who argue that everyone is either hot or extremely ugly, noone is allowed to be average-looking, nothing is allowed to be medium quality, it has to be great or the worst shit ever until the next bad thing comes out.
