UE5 games are somewhat moddable. It depends on the work put into the dev but you can go even further into modding. ti'd be 🌈
To think they'll do that with this though.
Unreal games are a pain in the dick to mod unless they make their own tools for it. You have no idea how spoiled we are to have the creation kit and xedit.

Probably the one upside to having Bethesda doing their work on one engine for 20 years. Much as people love to shit on Creation Engine, the fact that both modders and Bethesda employees know it inside and out is a rare thing seen in gaming nowadays.

People who shit on creation engine don't really know anything about how game engines work.

Unreal is an absolute nightmare for modability, even with mod tools and when made with modding in mind (EG: Stalker 2). It's also complete trash for handling physics simulations and open world spaces, the way it handles cells, lighting, and LOD's make it a performance nightmare. The whole engine feels like it was basically designed by indians to slap together hodgepodge games that "look good" but under the hood are a complete fucking mess. And the way it handles NPC's and dialogue is completely retarded.

Creation Engine is super efficient for open world games, can handle large scale LOD's, open world cells, physics simulations of thousands of objects, and lots of complex AI in the same scene. The problem with everything post oblivion is just the devs at Bethesda being retarded and complacent. Getting rid of the loading screens should have been a top priority instead of whatever retarded world gen shit they made for starfield. Actually putting effort into making large believable cities instead of......3 buildings and 5 people for a major metropolitan hub. It's not because the engine can't handle it, it's because their philosophy is that the only things that need to exist are what the player directly interacts with, like the apartment building in new Atlantis or whatever it's called in starfield that exists solely because there's a single interior cell in there for one quest.

you are expecting too much from a post M$ bethesda, especially with many of the old guard getting the boot, same shit happened with minecraft, notch left and the promised modding API is nothing but a myth now, with jeethesda and jeetfield they are trying the same shit as bedrock minecraft where making mods for it is extremely hard and at best you get monster/armor additions, they even went back on the models and use whole body/helmet instead of using armor bits like in fallout4, i said that in the jeetfield thread and i say it again, good guess that they still using cell-based maps beacuse not a single braaampta can optmize the code for shit outside googling the stack exchange if he can't find it on youtube which is rehased by gupta for the billionth time.
fucking EEE.
Also keep me posted, it's about time i upgraded from my ryzen 1500 anyway to a ryzen APU.

Wont play the remake anytime soon but i will get the popcorn for the shilling and shit it will get on. Be a nice palate-cleanser until fallout season 2 comes.

What are the chances that they will be able to reproduce NPC day routine for this "remake"? For starfield developing it already was a forgotten lost tech. Oblivion remake with static NPC and no mod support will be so funny.

Don't even fucking get me started on minecraft.

Being able to mod the game just by dragging and dropping fucking mods into a folder marked mods vs the absolute fucking walled garden abomination that is modding modern minecraft. Notch is a faggot who sold his baby, which was in such a perfect place and time to be have one of the biggest cultural impact of any game ever made, to get raped to death by microsoft for some shekels and you can tell how haunted he is by that from when Sam Hyde called him out for it. Now all we get is fucked retarded desaturedated and grey jeetcraft.

At least vintage story is fun and the mods are literally 1 click, but there's almost no audience and the mods are lacking because of it.

It's not a remake, at least not in the way most are remade. All the leaks about it basically surmise it as original oblivion running on creatine engine with an unreal engine 5 skinsuit stapled and glued on top, with maybe some different new bits like gameplay improvements grafted on here and there.

Oblivion is already unstable as fuck. With unreal 5 as a tumor sitting on top... this is so cursed.
But there is still a slim chance that microsoft provided competent engine coders. Can't wait! The uncertainty is killing me! It will be neat to have another tes game as a modding platform, but I fucking hate Oblivion for shiting so openly on a Nerevar legacy.

It's real. All that remains is the question whether that's a release date or an official announcement. Gonna be really pissed if it's the latter.

Who the fuck is that? Doesn't look like the champion
Looks like elf eyes

Reminder this piece of shit is going the GTA trilogy route of remaking the game with the original code on a new engine
That ones actually not that bad once they unfucked everything in it

Unfortunately for the devs they've literally been erased from it for the initial fuck up kek

I don't think so. Their skin would be blacker and eyes red.

Especially if they do what I think they might do and take some Skyrim updated designs for em
