Not only that but finding out in the worst possible way that your son is a pedophile with a fixation on amputees, and has been sharing that deviancy with the world openly.

I feel however that since you DO have to take care of him, you should have done so in a more proactive manner rather then just letting him do whatever for the past several years since he became an adult. The fact that he spent the entire Mexican vacation locked up in a hotel room seething on a messageboard instead of actually joining the rest of the family seeing the sights, eating amazing food and learning the culture should have been a huge red flag to start paying attention to him.
