It's worth clarifying that it's not a real rescue, for the most part the ferrets are generally healthy and do not need any sort of intensive care because he "rescues" them from pet stores or other such places. Even then they put in the bare minimum. Two ferrets died last year because they blocked themselves in a tunnel while sleeping and cooked themselves to death.

But it just looks like a large room filled with ferrets that run around and wait for the sweet release of death.
There's some debate about how he acquires ferrets too as in he may buy them from stores to rescue them sometimes. I don't know how true that is.

He also profits off of them where "rescue" proceeds go directly to his bank account and claims that his girlfriend is an employee, the same person who is an "employee" on his game and has previously complained that the pay she gets doesn't amount to much since it all goes right back to him as they live together.

When he says "busy with ferret rescue work" in the Steam blog he means working to expand the ferret hoard.
