The Elder Scrolls

On the other hand Skyblivion is stuck with Skyrim's hand-based spellcasting which is a downgrade from Oblivion.
When watching the trailer for the remaster I thought they were going to use Skyrim's system for magic casting. Revisiting Oblivion after playing Skyrim always threw me off having a dedicated magic spell button, even thought I have like 400 hours into the game.

Pirates are worse than vegans.

No one cares that you pirated your game.

Stop being a nigger,
Absolutely kiked-out brainwashed goyslave eunuch servant golem says what?

On the side note - are we done treating troon devs as "high iq agp autistic dudes"? Or is this one actually good? Like, did anyone try to launch mods? Cuz i've heard it still has that og file architecture.

Why do all women in video games have enlarged jaws now? mewing must be very popular in cyrodiil.
Because trannies can't pass as women, so they have to socially engineer the idea that "some women just look like that."

No, really. This is the reason. You can see when you ask devs about it and they dance around the issue very very carefully.

Its the superior version of spell casting. Lmao can't cast magic with something in your hands. Nords really are dumb.

THAT'S what I was thinking of. I kept thinking "This looks familiar but I can't put my finger on it" but it's just those fucking 5000+ mod modpacks you have to pay Nexus to download that end up crashing every 10 minutes. The aesthetic is spot on.
Never got the appeal of doing that to Bethesda games. I love modding games to hell and back, but there comes a point where you're not even playing the game. You're just practicing your troubleshooting skills. Troubleshooting can be fun, but not when you're trying to fix something that crashes every 10 minutes.

I've never played Elder Scrolls and the last Bethesda game I bought was FNV 6 years ago. I'm tempted to buy this from the good reception alone, even among the Twitter ragebait crowd
I think it's fine, I won't pay 35 bucks for what's essentially "GAME TITLE (but in UE5)", but that's more of my gripe with UE, I feel like I've been staring at the same faces and assets for the last two decades.

Of all the recent remaster disasters I've seen this is probably like the better of the bunch. Just a face lift with the original game intact (or as intact as the original was) if graphics are such a dealbreaker to people then might as well buy it if you are interested and if for some reason you don't want free games.

Some basic mods are working by dropping the .esp into the file structure since this is basically just a layer over top of the original game, but anything that needs OBSE is out, text is questionable, and there seem to be some scripting changes under the hood.

So mods are, and will be, yes, but it's a quiet yes at this point.

I got it, its been fine.
They reworked combat, leveling, etc a bit. But I've only had a little bit playing before I had to log for real life.
Also it's rebuilt in UE5 and is a bit janky in spots in the real world.
Also makes you respect realize how dog shit obsidian is if all the picking up and throwing around is present in this, along with pathing guards and people, and all that's missing from avowed.

Emerging consensus seems to be that performance is very bad on everything except bleeding-edge hardware. I was excited to play this, but now I'm going to wait for a patch that addresses it.

Hoping for something around 60 FPS @ 1440p ultrawide with my i9-10900K / 3080, but that doesn't seem likely from what I'm reading.

Lovers creatures is off the table. Godd Howard is at it again selling graphics updates and what seems to be combat rebalancing mods (as far as i can judge from playing it on youtube) at 60 bucks a piece. At least all the horse armor is pre-packaged.

So how long until someone exports the additional voices in the remaster to the original?

todd.webp Best I can give you is 30fps @720p

that explains why bethesda said mods are unsupported.
they meant the scripting ones but for them to work there needs to be a hackjob.

pretty much yeah, there are a few damage control mods already that supposedly help by tweaking micro stutters and DX12 fuckery on nexus.

Does anyone else have issues opening the console commands? It seems to just work for some people right off the bat, but it doesn't seem to work at all for me or my friends.
Apparently the console command window won't even open unless your keyboard is set to american layout in windows, despite my keyboard having literally the same buttons lmao. Thanks Todd. Already a crack out, so gonna refund it.

The more I look at the graphics and see all the performance issues, the more I come to one inevitable conclusion...

Unreal Engine 5 and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
It took the Oblivion Remaster for you to come to that conclusion? Not all the videos on YouTube with people explaining why UE5 is garbage and all the problems associated with it?

STALKER 2 was my first experience with UE5. A hard $110 lesson learned. No UE5 games shall be trusted.
