In order to earn the privilege of voting you should be required to either own land (that you live on) or be married and have children (which are your biological offspring).

I wonder why real-life buildings look like buildings in city simulation games...:
I mean, it does kind of look like a rendering. Maybe it's the over-saturation/low-resolution.

Other than that, what is with the obsession of "takes up too much space"? Even if you crammed a million people into some sort of Kowloon Walled City, who actually benefits from that? It's not like they're the ones collecting tax dollars, it will never be dirt-cheap like KWC (and I'd be hard pressed to think they even would like the idea of a squalid, windowless room without even running water)

As for "built like a prison" I'm surprised they aren't going after prisons strictly for "arrogance of space" (and not arguing for legalizing crime). Other than the Huntsville Unit in Texas, which sits in the center of town as a fortress-like compound most of the modern prisons in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (and by extension, most of the federal units) are located out in rural areas or semi-rural areas, with a massive buffer area between the actual prison compound and the rest of the world, both I suppose in terms of NIMBY/noise/light concerns, and if any prisoners do escape the main compound, wide open areas with native grass make it hard to actually escape since now you've made yourself a target. If snipers don't get you, the dogs will.

It's not just Texas; this is Englewood in Colorado. The roads are full two lanes in each direction with median, but even at the intersection, there's barbed wire and signs not to trespass on property of the government.

It is an architectural rendering. The building hasn't been built yet.

The /r/fuckcars members aren't referring to the image though, they're referring to the design of the building.

Some prisons are dense.

This is the Manhattan County jail:

and the corresponding federal detention center (where Epstein "killed himself"):

which is being replaced with an even taller building:

Of course, NYC also has Rikers Island, which is an "inefficient" use of space (and the pro-criminal pro-density NYC government wants to shut it down):

He's STILL mad about this.
Maybe because no bicycles is an actual thing (trails meant for horses/pedestrians, certain roadways, etc.) while no cars is just a meme by subhumans without understanding reality.

Between the more "suburban" developments in the outskirts of European towns (gas station/fast food developments), big box stores, and this new school, it suggests that Europeans don't do it "better", their cities are just old.

YouTuber ShreddedNerd has made an hour long video making fun of r/fuckcars and arguing against urbanists in general.

I think they forgot those car exist

More green space? Nigger, this school is built in the middle of nowhere, is literally surrounded by the trees. There's enough green space and not enough road space for a school of this size

Yup. That’s why our euro 'burbs expand so quickly- we obviously need space for roads, new housing, shopping centers and you just can’t squeeze that into an already packed city center. I do kinda wish we were more open to tearing down old buildings though- not every decaying structure is a priceless relic

Who spends this much time thinking about fucking emojis?

If they think they can get away with this sort of thing wait until they find out what happens if you aim a laser pointer at a helicopter.

Also if they're flying why the fuck do they care. Then they can't complain about "road violence" or whatever they call it. This goes to show they don't actually give a shit because it affects them. They just don't want other people being happy.

Important update regarding the change in interpretation of Reddit Content Policy Rule 1 by Reddit Admins.

Some time ago Reddit has introduced a new system that would action users that upvote violent content. About the same time the interpretation of what's violent and what not has changed drastically. On top of that there was a request made to Reddit by someone to take down some posts. Whlist we do not know what was the reaction to this request, we have a suspicion that it is at least partially resposnible for these changes. The result is that other communities have had problems with what was happening to users and some have since changed their topic and what kinds of posts are allowed.

In theory, none of this should affect us and this subreddit, as it is dedicateed to discussions on car-free alternatives, better urban planing, safety and public health. However, the reality is anyone can sometimes get too annoyed with something and make calls for solving the issue in a more direct way. Because of this we've seen Reddit admins remove comments calling for keying cars, slashing tires, destroying cars and so on and we agree with you: vandalism is not the same as violence, but we have no sway over admin decisions so we'll be taking actions whenever we see any type of content that sugests causing damage or destruction of property within reason, so calls for reducing the number of lanes on a road are still ok.

I'm attaching screenshots of some comments that were removed by admins so that everyone can get a better understanding of the type of posts and comments that are not allowed.

If you have your comment removed by Reddit admins you can try to appeal the decision by using the link provided in their message. If you've been banned from reddit you can use the link below

https://www.reddit.com/appeals

At the same time if you see any comments that call for vandalism or destruction of private property please use the report function.
As a side note, this is different from violence against people or animals which has always been, and always will be, against our rules.

All that pearl-clutching ("speak our minds!", "learn to take a joke!") when they're threatened, never giving any of the benefit of the doubt to the other side.

I imagine that since they cry about "arrogance of space" they probably take the SimCity approach where any green space has magic crime-reducing, health-improving properties. It's the only way they can argue that and be consistent in their arguments.

Iirc that's in Manchester for bus-only roads, chances are it might have been somebody not from the area who accidentally got in the wrong lane and ended up writing off his car for it.

Are there really that many incidents of cars being in the bus lanes that they have to go through restrictive measures? I mean, that's probably why bus traps were never popular to begin with and a wrecked car will inconvenience transit far more than a car getting through would. (Calgary, Alberta removed the last of their bus traps a few years ago, I bet /r/fuckcars seethed about it because of their "cars bad" idea outweighed any reasons why it was actually bad for everyone).

Reddit admins told /r/fuckcars to cool it with the violent posts:
I don't get why they aren't being more cautious about fedposting and need the Reddit admins to keep them in line. We may say TTD and post the copypasta but anybody on here who is legitimately calling for users to hunt down and kill a specific tranny IRL gets MATI reacted (downvoted) and then banned.

It's not hard and arguing that "vandalism is not violence" is retarded (especially coming from the same retards who call car accidents "traffic violence," double standard). I can post on here without saying that people should show up at a certain tranny's house and key his car.

Anyway, somebody once said that it's a private company so they can do whatever they want and if you don't like it go build your own site, so I'm going with that.
