Seems like a complete waste of time fighting that 1% when you already have the majority of viewership you could ever want/need. Especially when that 1% keeps one-upping you because they are better than your coders.

It's like when a cheapskate boss decided to start counting pennies just to save a little moire instead of looking at the bigger picture.

mpv still works for youtube videos but it downloads very slowly. Looks like Goolag is going scorched earth on alternative viewing platforms.

Newpipe under the most recent version and small, self hosted Invidious instances seem to be working ok still, just gave them both a test

I've come to make an announcement: Youtube's a bitch-ass motherfucker. They pissed ads on my fucking screen. That's right. They took their google fuckin' ad infested dick out and they pissed on my FUCKING screen, and they said premium was THIS CHEAP, and I said that's disgusting. So I'm making a callout post on my Kiwifarms.hk. Youtube, you got a small dick. It's the size of this walnut except WAY smaller. And guess what? Here's what Freetube's dong looks like. That's right, baby. Tall points, no ads, no algorithm, look at that, it looks like two balls and a bong. He fucked my screen, so guess what, I'm gonna fuck the ads. That's right, this is what you get! My SUPER SPONSORBLOCK! Except I'm not gonna piss on the ads. I'm gonna go higher. I'm pissing on the SPONSORS! How do you like that, MOHAN? I PISSED ON THE SPONSORS, YOU IDIOT! You have twenty-three hours before the piss DROPLETS hit the fucking ads, now get out of my fucking sight before I piss on you too!

The UK government is trying to push photoID/face scanning for age verification again. Discord already caved, and I don't know about other social medias as I don't use them.

Which brings me to YouTube. Are there any age restricted videos worth watching/saving? I don't use YT for porn (why would anyone) so the only things I can think of are a couple of episodes of Markiplier and AVGN.

Though judging by the thread, YT-DLP doesn't work on those any more anyway?

Neal Mohan has fucked up Youtube again, the desktop/browser version has a fixed number of videos per row now, so you get huge thumbnails instead of more videos.

You can add this in the uBlock script (I got it on Xitter):

I setup these 3 plugins and it just works, now.

The first two plugins might not be necessary. Get-pot is necessary for bgutil-pot to work.

A correction. You do need bgutil-ytdlp-pot-provider for yt-dlp-get-pot to work.
 
If you have sponsorblock installed, it fucks with the menu so you cant use the youtube volume setting with the mouse. I have to use the arrow keys on my keyboard to increases or decrees the volume.
 
Don't know if this has been talked about but, I think Youtube is starting to or has faked user engagement, I don't have absolute proof of this but I have been noticing that my account has liked comments that I never liked on vids that are less then a day old so its unlikely that I just forgot that I liked a comment. Could just be the jeet spaghetti code going haywire but it could be a way to boost engagement time for better ad pay. Dunno, I'm not very code savvy, especially with html, and a screen cap of a like isn't very convincing.
