There's no way to convince that many people to send $10/mo. I can do pro rata lump payments but there's no way to give people meaningful rewards if I'm expecting 1200 people to do it. I'm confident we can get 300 people at $40. I might do lower but $20 is the lowest I'd consider. The less I charge, the worse the benefits will have to be. Like at $10 I can't even consider having feature spots.

Think about it this way, if you know Null is gonna take his side over yours every time, and you know HHH is only gonna talk shit if you talk shit first, then the smart thing to do would be to just shut up and let him keep to himself cause there's nothing to gain and everything to lose. No point in being mad over HHH.

What is wrong with asking why some users are more equal than others? How many years of HHH derailing threads is acceptable when other problem users have pink triangles at least? Null specifically says people with 5 years and older accounts are having flame wars with each other and it's getting gumming up the moderation queue why is the obvious poster not allowed to be mentioned? Look at it in a vacuum and ask if the TDS political sperging would be acceptable from a new account. This isn't the first problem user with an early join date and that Rapetor woman couldn't stop posting about abortions eventually got the boot. It took years of people having to avoid any thread she joined because it derailed. Moderators had to clean it up and she would jump to another thread and derail that one. If old users can do nothing but derail threads by posting in them then there is a problem with old users and they need to be asked to calm down or moderated into constructive forum posters.

If the beauty parlour can have a higher standard of moderation why can't the rest of the site? Asking people to be on topic and not just spew garbage hoping for rage replies isn't a high standard of forum posting. It's basic user etiquette. Is it such a big ask for HHH to chill on the TDS and try to add something to the thread discussions?

It can be regulated like the feature: every month, you get the ability to make one post on some other user's profile, locked or not. Hell, why not go further? Cap the word count unless they pay even more.

I mean, given the long-standing opposition to Redditifying the forum, I'm not sure what other outcome would result from giving people the ability to pay for meaningless baubles and the ability to get their posts featured, which will almost certainly be most enticing to people who care deeply about stickers. I mean, that's more or less what Reddit awards are, though obviously it's blunted a bit by your discretion. But at the same time, the tragic thing about human nature is this will probably bring in the bills, which is the key thing.

The problem is you're under the assumption that Null views every user as equal. This is not a democracy. We are not a bastion of freedom of speech. Null likes some users better than others and gives them more leeway because he thinks they're funny and I'm pretty sure he's been open about this.
