Wasn't it established earlier on in this thread that camping new registered users is a dick move? At least wait until someone exhibits some degeneracy before you start phonebooking them ffs!
I can't think of anything more unwelcoming to a community then every new users name gets run through to see if they followed a suggestion (not a rule) as soon as they sign up.
This may not be a super sincere point, as we all know we mostly shame for our own amusement, but I would also rather someone with poor opsec get laughed off the forum than develop a post history saying things they might not want pinned to them offsite. Like I said many spergouts ago, the worst we'll do is laugh. Can't say the same about the many agenda having people that're constantly malding at the site.
For the most part I do agree, though. Even from the least empathetic perspective, chomping at the bit to Google every name that signs up results in more faildoxes than anything.
