My problem with Orthodoxy is they are explicitly ethnic. The nearest Orthodox church to me is Serbian. And I am not Serbian. I'm an American. If ever there is an American Orthodox Patriarchate, then maybe I would consider it. But I simply do not see that in the cards. Orthodox Churches have much to commend to them. Being ecumenical and open to outsiders are not those things.

In America, it's not as bad as all that. My relative got introduced into Orthodoxy at a Serbian Orthodox Church (they all spoke English and were mostly native to that city but with a variety of ethnicities (some Russian, mostly Anglos, and a few Mexicans).

If you can find a Church under the loose (very) affiliation of the "Orthodox Church in America," that'd put your mind at ease.

Illegal was in court that day for an unspecified, presumably unrelated matter. ICE Presents themselves to the various courthouse officials, has a warrant, all that jazz. Take up position in the hallway outside the courtroom after agreeing with the court to wait until after the illegal had his case heard. Judge Dugan learns that ICE is here, comes out, demands ICE follows off to talk to a senior judge, one agent stays behind only because the judge didn't realize he was also ICE. Dugan returns to her courtroom .

While ICE speaks with the senior judge via phone in a private room, the court day continues. The testimony recorded here is a bit muddled, but as far as I can tell, the court docket goes on as expected, until they reach the 'end', at which point an attorney notices that the Illegals case has been skipped, and asks what's up with his clients case, as he was the public defender for the illegal. The judge informs him the case has been Adjourned, so delayed (which is extremely unusual as a unilateral declaration when everyone in the room is present and ready to present, my personal comment) for now. Multiple witnesses then corroborate the Judge taking the Illegal and an attorney personally out through the Jury Exit, after stopping them from leaving through the public exit that the one ICE Agent was still waiting at.

Once the Illegal is out through this alternative exit, the Illegal and the Attorney are spotted by another agent moving to a distant elevator seemingly chosen deliberately as the most likely to not be watched, away from the Courtroom and exiting the building. ICE is notified of this, and scrambles to find the now escaping illegal. They spot him outside the courthouse, they move to arrest, he books it and runs, and is arrested shortly after.

Effectively, Dugan appears to have deliberately redirected ICE Agents away from the Illegal, and then facilitated the escape of an illegal with full knowledge of a valid warrant and arrest procedure underway, via court privileged access of private areas that ICE complied with requests to not touch.

There is an American Patriarch, Orthodox Church of America. And most Orthodox Churches have a number of converts not of the ethnicity of the church. Near me the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches are half random white people. Almost all do the vast majority of the mass in English.

This is a bit of derail but I just read/listened to a dude talk about the "long house" and women subverted church leadership starting with having women speak to women.

I think its less about women specifically, and more about the types of women who would want to be priestesses in the first place. There are plenty of very devout Christian women. These women also don't want to become clergy because they understand that the faith does not allow for it. By definition, a female who wants to become a Priestess of the Church engages in heresy. So other heresies follow in their wake.

Just consider how they recoil at the term "Priestess" in the first in the place. That is the feminine title for a member of the Clergy who is a woman. If they honestly felt what they were doing was fully justified by scripture they would loudly demand their congregations addresses them as such.
