but even bad company 1/2 had smarter destruction that whats shown. It seems more like over correction to me after years of neglect and and just giving a worse system than what we saw in 2008

Oh I forgot they should let you rebuild cover at least didn’t bfv have that system

I read on Twitter that apparently browser's going to be only for Portal, we can only hope that it's either not true or DICE will change it.
its fucking over you can do SBMM for 64 players btw, Call of Duty did with 64 players in their ground war modes and Warzone has SBMM with 150 players.

All they really need is destruction about the level of BF4. This shit where one rocket blows the entire front of a building off is a bit too much. Destruction is fun but make me work for it a little if I want to take an entire building down. Fighting over piles of rubble also actually kinda fucking sucks. Just think about Siege of Shanghai. When you take down that central building the map becomes objectively worse. Game is still being developed though so I think this is just them showing shit off for now anyway. Gotta wait and see once they have any kind of public or even closed beta closer to the game's release.

This is why i liked BFVs system where you could rebuild some stuff. Lots of potential there. It was fast too so didn't feel like a slog and flowed well into the game. The firestorm mode of BFV had even better destruction. Barreling down a hill and blasting straight through a house in an APC was really funny.

They never managed to merge the destruction from BC2 into the other games. BC2 was very limited in its level designs but it allowed the destruction to be fine tuned.

Just browsing, there's talk of no server browser? That's retarded. You need to know if there are other people playing. Nothing is more frustrating that clicking to play and being chucked in an empty server.

It's like the latest COD. It doesn't show pings. Is that other person high ping, hacking or just bullshit? Who knows. You're not allowed to know. It's choices to make the experience worse. Not everyone lives in high density parts of the world. I do wonder if we can start some version of woke that can be weaponised that they are designing games with an inherent bias to European of North American population desnsities.

I have a bad feeling the Assault Class will feel like just the generic solider guy class instead of having an actual role they must also have to do something in the game, not just shoot at Infantry like its CoD
Assault- Anti-Tank and Anti-Air (Assault Rifles)
Medic- Healing and Reviving (SMGs)
Support- Ammo and Repairs (LMGs)
Sniper- what it says on the tin (Sniper Rifles)
allow you to swap out for a Shotgun but other than that no-cross pollination between weapons for classes
2042 also let you swap attachments in-game. I liked it, but I hope it doesn't return unless it's something that has a lengthy fitting animation.
i dont mind swapping attachments, but yeah id prefer a animation to balance it like you said

BC2 was the reason it was nerfed in the first place, a tank sitting at spawn and turn a whole map into a flat area is only fun the first few times (EDIT: maybe the idea was by the time it's flat players move on to the next stage which doesn't have that issue. but still..) same thing with shanghai in bf4 when the map starts and everyone starts nuking the skyscraper. might as well remove it since it's hardly there most of the match.

the problem has been forever that dice simply doesn't understand how to achieve the goal of making a map "dynamic" and how people play the damn game.
if you give players the option they will inevitably abuse it. if you really want to change the map mid-match, simple make it a random event and the destruction small scale like bf3. if you want to go one step further you add/remove areas this way, so you suddenly have 3+ possible states of a map. imagine conquest but instead of going from left to right, you have a branching path. you could even be smart about it and tie it to match progression itself to boost one team or the other.

but then it's the same company that figured maybe making the m-com positions in rush have several different positions each match wouldn't make every match feel the same...

Wasn't the point of assault to be infantry? It's the most familiar to CoD with the access to automatic rifles and explosives.

Agreed, destructible buildings/terrains would need to be balanced for gameplay reasons. If EVERY building could be leveled out of existence, that gives infantry a massive imbalance against vehicles. Didn't a sand level in 2042 get flack for not having enough cover?

one of the biggest issues with 2042, top 5 even is that they all feel like bigger CoD Maps with wide-open spaces, like half of the maps Snipers feel broken because of the amount of no mans land

The Battlefield Updates page for 2042 is gone, likely sunsetting live service now and doing the BF1 thing of rotating skins for weekly challenges.
I see the main 2042 page is still there, but you'd have to search for it.


This is Battlefield's new homepage, looks like they're all hands on deck with their upcoming Battlefield. How long did 2042's live service last? Two years?

it was ok in theory since by the time you move on from the stage, it doesn't matter how flat everything is. where they fucked up of course is putting a fucking tank at the attack spawn and in usual dice competence never understood why this would be a problem, even when after the first fucking week it was obvious all it was used for is sitting at spawn and mortar the whole area from a save distance (common issue all they way up to bf1)

don't know the 2042 maps, but usually that shouldn't be a problem. I say usually because inevitably players should figure out how to coordinate a proper push out of necessity. however this isn't bf2 anymore where this was common, so I'd say is less an issue with map design and more the playerbase they fostered since then (covering a flank with an LMG instead of bumrushing through a door like a retard is considered camping for example)

You try running to the objective at spawn without a vehicle.
I did plenty of times, but then I'm not a lemming trying to re-enact d-day only to get gunned down while everyone's playing TDM twitchy like cod. :story:
remember the average player isn't even able to read the fucking minimap, and half of them is even worse.

EDIT: besides, there's not much choice anyway when you have the usual tankwhore sitting in there farming kills for his precious K/D.
