The old non lithium-ion batteries didn't have any power regulation, so they can easily overcharge. That's the main reason you shouldn't keep them plugged in all the time. As for all the hysteria about gaming laptops and battery life just turn off the dgpu and put it in power saving and you'll get 7+hours doing web browsing and watching videos.. I have a g14 and this is pretty much true for me. These amd laptop cpus from 2022 and up are very good for battery lifeSpeaking of gaming and to a more general extent powerful laptops, I know they drain the battery like a bitch unless you keep em' plugged in. When I was a kid, my dad would always tell me not to keep his laptop plugged in 24/7 since it'd fuck up the battery, I never gave it much thought since as I grew older I imagined they'd have something like resistors to lower the voltage when the battery was full so the power could be directly sent to the components. Makes me miss those old removable batteries.
