2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

I was just about to post "how are things going for South Africa now that the great evil known as apartheid is no more"
2 wrongs don't make a right. The ANC being incompetent doesn't justify the African supermajority being disenfranchised and receiving a lower quality of life to the Boers and Brits.

The real question is why are they even sending a bunch of inept conscripts into urban warfare when by the IDF's own estimates over a year of intense combat left Hamas with about as many fighters as they started with and 75% of their tunnels intact. They aren't rescuing hostages or destroying Hamas so why do they even bother going into intact buildings? The only coherent "strategy" left (besides negotiating) is to starve them out, trying to push any further in only gives the Qassam Brigades a chance to land some counterpunches.

inept conscripts
Pretty sure if it was inept conscripts you would have fatality ratios closer to the Russo-Ukraine war, though tbf the worse Israeli front line soldier is still miles better than than any of the two sides' soldiers.

IDF's own estimates over a year of intense combat left Hamas with about as many fighters as they started with and 75% of their tunnels intact.
Hard to fight an enemy that hides itself amongst the population. But military pressure is still effective in culling any ongoing resistance, and making them lose men, material and public support.

I found this video on X where a host on an Israeli tv show argues Gaza should be wiped out - https://x.com/gerrytastic/status/1914763605079417044

I'm not using this video as proof this is the common view in Israel and there are probably thousands of videos of Palestinians advocating for the same on Israel and the other 2 condemn his view. Are the subtitles accurate on it? I am curious what is Berkovic's reputation in Israel? What is your opinion on the debate?

An IDF soldier and a police officer were killed during fighting in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood on Friday afternoon, the military and police announce.

The slain soldier is named as Cpt. Ido Voloch, 21, a platoon commander in the 401st Armored Brigade’s 46th Battalion, from Jerusalem; and the police officer is named as Sgt. Neta Yitzhak Kahane, of the Border Police’s Yamas covert unit.

According to an initial IDF probe, during operations in Shejaiya, troops of the Jerusalem Reserve Infantry Brigade and members of police’s Yamas unit set up an ambush in a building.

Terror operatives arrived at the ambush site, and the Israeli forces opened fire on them at around 4:40 p.m. During the exchange of fire, the Yamas officer was killed.

Rescue forces were then dispatched to the scene to extract the troops at the ambush site. Fifteen minutes later, an army Humvee that tried to reach the area was hit by RPG fire, and one soldier was moderately wounded.

Nearly an hour later, several IDF tanks, part of the rescue forces, came under RPG fire by the operatives in Shejaiya. One of the RPGs killed Voloch and lightly wounded another soldier.

An hour after that, two reservists of the Jerusalem Brigade’s 7007th Battalion were moderately wounded by RPG fire and light arms in the same area.

Nah, that's just movie bullshit. Here's the guy who created nylon body armor and his buddy shooting each other point blank with .308 and 44 mag for funsies.

This I can speak to because of direct conversations with guys who are currently serving in elite idf units: The idf is not as well equipped as the USA. Not every soldier has plate body armour, and many reservists run around with older stuff. Is it better than what the Palestinians and the arab neighbors have? Yes, but they aren't buying even solider level 3 plates. For example this guy I know has to have his family in the USA buy and then ship to him level 3 plates after October 7th because they didn't have enough to go around in Israel. The Israeli tank crews on the front lines were, up until recently, still using what were essentially modified Vietnam-era flak jackets that were just patched up. I would not be shocked if the reserve units still had them. When I was in Israel I saw for my own eyes (pre-war) that reserve units were using m16s from the vietnam era. The Israelis have a knack for keeping military armor and equipment well past their service life. They were using Shermans even into the 1960s, and they still use the M113s that they got back during the Cold War, although now they are packing them full of explosives and turning them into a giant RCXD from Black Ops. I don't want to get into gun sperging but this video and this one are good showers. For the first one, yes the plate wasn't blown up but look what happened to the wood in the back. Imagine if you're a guy. It will still knock you down. The Paul Harrell video is the best. Look you're not taking rounds like a tank. And even if they do have body armor that stuff just covers the vital organs so you still can get shot in the arms or wherever. I really have to stress how sycophantic the IDF as an institution is. The air force is top tier like almost as good as the USA and maybe better in some ways. The Army ranges from ehhh to really good to great with their special forces being world-class. Their army is in many ways close to how our reservists/ national guard were in Iraq in 2003 but a draft army. Their navy is ok, it's not made for large-scale deep ocean action, just the Mediterranean and the Red Sea/ indian ocean/Persian Gulf. You have to remember that the USA is a league of its own. Most nations of the world don't even come close to it. But the IDF for what it is, and the size of it and the military industrial complex it has, is punching WAY above its weight class. To make a comparison, the USA is that kid that comes from a rich family and had all the special tutors and individualized education, Israel is that kid that didn't come from a rich family but is able to compete in similar circles as the USA through sheer will power and intellect. It won't be amazing at everything, but what it is good at it's Amazing, for everything else its more average than anything.

I love the Irish faggot doing military breakdowns like he knows shit. I know people who did joint IDF-US Army/Marine training exercises and they all have told me that they were shocked at how "average" the IDF was. They were expecting the best of the best, what they got was really good, but closer to say the french than the South Koreans. For reference the best draft soldiers in the world are the South Koreans. They are outstanding, and they don't fuck around.

Also in that gay video, he shot the guy in the ass. I really don't see your point here. what doesn't matter isn't the individual person to person combat, because that will always suck, it's the overall. I promise you if you had cameras like that in WW2 you would see videos coming from Japan, of us marines getting sniped. But that really doesn't matter when you have zero air support and the other side has tanks and napalm. Look Israel just has to wait it out. Hamas has no one supplying them, they have no armor factories and what you see is propaganda of the lowest order Watch this break down of how much bullshit Hamas propaganda is. For Christs sake this is basically what it all is it's that stupid it's easily memeable.

There is a reason why Israeli deaths number in the small handfuls (and that is including the 1-2 weeks between notifying family and official announcements) and the numbers of the jihadis who "died on the road to Jersualim" number in the fucking thousands.

hot off the presses. The guy who shot at the IDF died. I'm pretty sure no one died on the idf side. Also that battle was like a year ago. So shit talk the idf all you want but the guy shooting at them did not survive the battle. womp womp

The way this has played out on social media, the IDF is somehow winning the war despite losing every battle and skirmish.

Why is Hamas sending actual children into urban warfare?

The airstrike:

Aftermath:

IDF statement:
IDF: A short while ago, the IAF struck a terrorist infrastructure site containing precision Hezbollah missiles in the area of Dahieh, a key Hezbollah terrorist stronghold in Beirut.

The storage of missiles in this infrastructure site constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, and poses a threat to the State of Israel and its civilians.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization systematically embedded the missiles amidst the Lebanese civilian population, cynically exploiting them as human shields.

Prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming uninvolved civilians, including issuing advance warnings to the civilian population in the area and using precise munitions.

The IDF will continue to operate in order to remove any threat posed to the state of Israel.

I’m so sick of the IDF showing undeserved compassion to these terrorist fucks. There’s zero PR benefit to it and it just extends hostilities. End these fuckers without warning.
Why do you think they continue to do it? I'm not asking rhetorically.

What is that stuff that went into the air i wonder? I seemed really light.. almost like full of air kind of light. It was over a large area too.
To me it looked sort of like fabric or paper.

Wish I knew. We had an IDF physician at our Passover sedarim and he wouldn’t comment, which was frustrating. He did have a funny story about a soldier davening mincha (afternoon prayers) a few yards away from a Gaza tunnel entrance. The soldier was in the middle of the Amidah, the long portion of the service that cannot be interrupted, when in his peripheral vision he saw a terrorist with an RPG hovering just inside the tunnel. Instead of shouting to the other soldiers, he kept his eyes on his siddur and started gesturing wildly to them while continuing to pray. (In that circumstance he should have interrupted his prayers but fortunately they took the fucker out and no one worthy of life was killed.)

> Gaza
> Innocent

Pick one
They’re as innocent as the Germans in WWII. I’m not especially sympathetic, but the difference between complacent good people and complacent bad people entirely comes down to their surroundings, and 90%+ of people are complacent in one flavor or the other. A large part of the Gazan population were willing to work in peace in Israel without going all jihad, and I think saving those is a good thing.
