They don't really do that outside niche series just for those pervs? See for example the biggest manga in current release- One Piece. Yamato is explicitly not trans despite the trans fans clamouring for it.
It's pretty much mainstream and has far surpassed the aforementioned comics here in the US, pretty much being the biggest western market there is. I'm saying it as a warning sign and hopefully such degenerate actions don't spread to new issues that become popular here.

The funny thing was Bridget's whole thing used to be "I'm going to choose to live the life I want and have my own identity despite what was forced on me". When you say that sentence now it sounds like your usual clown world shit, but back then it was Bridget's journey to learning to prove that he was the man that he is in spite of his circumstances. It was, ironically, a journey of recovery for the groomed.

You had basicially everybody that was like "bro, he's been a guy for twenty years" and then you had the troons who were like "its MAM". Out of a lot of gaming controversies, Bridget's was honestly one of the most reasonable. You're literally grooming him into being a girl even after for the last 20 years he was trying to get over that shit. They never cared about the game, only about the next nut.
It's not even just the troons demanding it, or even the Strive players for that matter (Strive was the game that dropped and flipped Bridget's writing on its head, cheapening and effectively undoing his whole journey of self-discovery and recovery). That shit has been retconned by the community into the older games. If you were to visit the +R server today you'd be shot for 'misgendering' Bridget or Testament. That's why if you watch some modern footage of the older games you'll see kneesock men in the crowds and among the players. There are fringe Gear communities comprised of banned players that don't subscribe to this mindset, though it doesn't extend to flat-out rejection of troons, just the un-writing of the existing characters.
Something that happened was Blazblue, which found success in Western markets by ArcSys paying attention to and interacting with Western audiences. ArcSys is an actual small company, and their bread and butter is (or used to be at least) being contractors for other, bigger developers. They don't have a ton of their own IP.
He is a massive lover of Western culture, yeah. Sol (the main character) is himself a walking Queen reference. His name's 'Frederick', his original themes were titled 'Keep Yourself Alive' (featuring riffs lifted from the Queen track of the same name), and his attire features written references to Queen tracks. His alias's second name, 'Badguy', comes straight from Mercury's own nickname 'Mr. Bad Guy' (referencing the song of the same name). Ky takes his first and last names respectively from those of a couple members of some European group (I think they were Swedish?) and has moves called 'Ride the Lightning' and 'Rising Force'. This sort of thing is all over Gear as a whole. Hell, one of Bridget's attacks is 'Kickstart My Heart'.
