Disney is copyright striking anyone who even talks about this so it leads me to believe that these leaks are true. The Peggy one comes across as funny and in character for her. I don't know how I feel about reuniting Bobby and Connie. Kahn and Minh being split up is a little weird, but I feel like Kahn being forced to live with Bill makes for some prime comedic material.

In other matters, the voice actor for John Redcorn, despite being in the revival series, wasn't invited to the upcoming reunion event.

I swear I remember Peggy yelling "DAMN IT BOBBY WHERES MOMMYS XANAX" before, but I'm probably misremembering, maybe she said a different substance. If they swear I just hope the writers don't overuse it, the thing I love about the show is that it didn't rely on the typical "its a cartoon but for adults so we SWEAR and talk about SEX" replacement for telling actual jokes. I hope Kahn and Minh fighting is temporary, they were my favorite couple.
I feel bad for Redcorns VA but I've heard he's got some issues. Hope the best for him anyways.

Mike Judge is still the head writer, so don't expect any huge changes away from the original run. Look at the new Beavis and Butt-Head for an example. One swear word, given the reaction it deserved, was as much of a change to that show from the original run as I'd expect on the new KotH.

they were my favorite couple.
I really do love that all of the married couples in the show have a different dynamic that seems to work for each of them. If I had to guess which of them would get divorced though, it would absolutely be the Soups. They're both firecrackers, passionate in both directions, and Kahn especially can be a real bastard to Minh sometimes. I'm curious if maybe them being split up is going to be used as a vehicle for genuine character development for Kahn.

Not gonna lie, even though I'm not full gung-ho on everything we've seen, this has made me much more excited for how this'll turn out. King of the Hill is a series that's very near and dear to me and I do hope that we can get a good show to redeem those buttass seasons near the end. My personal hopes are development for Bill and for Cotton to be given back his proper Arlington burial instead of that toilet bullshit. Cotton got done so dirty during "zombie" KotH and I hate it.

Speaking of retcons, have any of you guys seen that deleted scene from Luanne's wedding?
The weirdest thing to me is the fixation on the whole show taking place over a year.

I can hear John Redcorn voice while reading this

"It's episodes like lupes revenge that lend credence to the theory that after her skydiving accident Peggy suffered brain damage that permanently altered her personality.
It's less than and more behind the scenes shit. Normie fans kept complaining that season 1-4 Hank was an obnoxious asshole and Fox basically started threatening Judge to kill Hank off (hence the cliffhanger where Meglomart blew up and the fake teaser that the show was rebooting with Peggy, Luanne, and Bobby moving to Hollywood to try and get Bobby into acting). The compromise was that Judge agreed to make Hank less of a cunt and more likable to the normie audience and amped up making Peggy a cunt to balance things out.

It has been reported on a few times that Mike Judge, in contrast to shows like The Simpsons, intended to have the characters age in real-time or at least somewhat at a more steady pace. Fox however nixed that idea.

That deleted ending was just his way of joking about how the entire events of the show could take place in a relatively short amount of time. Some episodes actually happened, others didn't.

I can't remember where I read it and who knows if it's true, but I saw someone say that Toby Huss is taking over as VA for Dale. I don't know how to feel about that. Dale was one of, if not my favorite, character and it would be nice having him around for the whole reboot but I'm not sure.

They almost have to revoice him since Hardwick apparently recorded lines for multiple episodes before he died.

It would be weird to abruptly kill of Dale after two or three episodes.

i mean if he can pull off the dale gribble voice bare minimum as well as the replacement actors they got for rick and morty on rick and morty (opinions on the show aside, they do a decent enough job imitating roiland at least) then by all means more power to him

Toby Huss can probably handle it. He's pretty good.

The leaks have made me excited for this. They look pretty good.

I'm just glad they didn't cave to woke shit and decide that a white guy can't play a Pee Oh See anymore, when it was ok for years.
about that
King of the Hill fan favorite Kahn may not return for the upcoming revival. During an interview with TV Line, Greg Daniels, who co-created the hit animated series with Mike Judge, revealed he’s unsure whether Hank Hill’s next-door nemesis will be back.

“[I’m] not sure whether Kahn’s coming back,” he said. “But I think we would most likely replace Toby’s voice for Kahn. Like, if we were casting today, we wouldn’t have cast him. But we cast it in 1997.”

Kahn was originally voiced by white voice actor Toby Huss, which would be more than a little problematic these days. After all, The Simpsons put a stop to Hank Azaria’s tenure as Apu with the actor last voicing the character back in 2017.

“Most animation casts play multiple roles,” explained Daniels. “Toby Huss initially played [Hank’s father] Cotton Hill and was cast for that, and then Kahn came up later. And most productions, especially back then, didn’t have the budget to hire a special performer for each voice. But it’s different now.”

Toby Huss is fantastic, I'll have to hear his Dale voice but if anyone can do it, it's him.
Part of me half wishes they would do an episode where Dale is kidnapped by aliens then returns with his voice clearly chopped up clips (like South Park did with Chef).

I love Dale, I'd prefer he get a touching send off true to the character than straight replaced.

I disagree. Dale is a great character and deserves to live beyond of what his moral voice actor could provide. That's a beauty of voice acting, what one started others can carry beyond of one man. None of that is disrespectful to the contribution of an actor, simply a part of the possibilities of this type of art.

Glad to hear that there's so much hope for Toby Huss doing a good job! I'm getting more excited.

It's my understanding that there will be a sneak peek at this festival coming up, think someone will leak it?
What I worry about is Johnny Hardwick wasn't just a voice actor but had a hand in writing/producing too. Don't know if he was going to for the new show as well.
