You know what I like about 4chan? It's the ultimate social media shit test. The internet is roughly 50% bots/bot-generated content at this point, Xitter more like 75%. Facebook and Instagram are filled with fake accounts posting inane garbage comments. Now even Reddit has become filled with fake, AI-generated slop posts that get thousands of upboots.
You immediately know whether a person is genuine or not on 4chan. You don't have a recently-created user account to give it away, you don't see a profile picture or avatar, all you see is "Anonymous." And yet the average user will know immediately when someone is a bot or a glowie or a kike. I know people give it a bad rap, but it really is one of the last untouched corners of the old internet.

Yeah the food nowadays is shitty but most of these 2000s women were caked in makeup so thats why
They had nowhere near as much makeup as they do now. Nowadays I don't even need to remind myself "she's very likely a 5 without the makeup" because they wear so much of it that it makes them LESS attractive.

so did they actually change anything or did it really take them two weeks to update the OS of the server

I just flat out assume all 'Why is water wet?' question type topics to be bot threads. Which also constitutes the majority of threads on boards like /pol/ or /v/. And like lemmings people still fall for it.
Sadly, sometimes those are the ones that are needed to get a discussion going.
>hey guys I watched/played X and it was cool what do you guys think of it
9 replies 2 images 404'ed
>this obviously attractive girl is ugly and I cant believe boomers used to jerk off to it
400 replies and going. Even if half the posts are bots or pajeets hornyposting, it at least won't die immediately. None of that would be needed if jannies did their job, but they're the ones shitposting. You could see it happen in real time when [s4s] was made. Both oldfags and shitposters went in and it had some decent threads for a while, but then the asinine amounts of garbageposting pushed the quality people out and left a bunch of retards that just flung shit at each other.
I didn't go back to 4Chan. Public reason: repeated security concerns. Private reason: the mods are all absolute niggers.
I already knew that they would use trolling and racism as excuses to ban shit they didn't like, but seeing the quiet part said out loud was still sad. You actually had a jannytranny seething in the report that you called india garbage.

off-topic: What's up with the stickers. I keep getting them, am I supposed to hand them out?

This and other content like it, be it images, videos or whatever, is the reason people post on 4chan and similar sites. It can't be stressed enough that content creation is what ultimately leads to the success or failure of an image board. Well, that and competent moderation of course. Once a bunch of Anons get the ball rolling and come up with something nice for a change, the mods and jannies should simply let them be, unless something truly deviant gets posted. But we can't have nice things, not in 2025.

Everything is fake and gay, nothing ever happens.

And despite all of that you still end up with a site that consists of mostly stale memes and threads that repeat ad nauseam. The site is completely unusable without third-party extensions like 4chan X that allow you to filter out certain words, images and cancerous tripfags and even then the quality of the threads is for the most part abysmal.

/tv/ is 90% capeshit, wordfilter 'kino' and you've gotten rid of the other 10%
/v/ is rage/clickbait galore and e-celebs
/g/ is nothing but people talking about what to buy and cringey as fuck "battlestation" threads
/vg/ threads are dogshit as the moderation is beyond garbage and mongoloids are allowed to run rampant shitting up whatever general they wish
/mu/ is another cesspit where people unironically praise rap / hiphop and crap that sounds like elevator musak

It's really disappointing because I remember how good it used to be, nowadays you're just wasting your time looking at samey threads, arguing with underaged third worlders.

whoa whoa whoa lets not bring /mu/ into this

Gookmoot faxed the code and had to break out the floppy disc, that's why it took that long. Other than that, nope! Janitors are still abusing, schizos still screaming, bots are botting away, same ragebait threads are being posted. The only people who stay are the schizos, gooners, and addicts.

My thoughts exactly. There's this old screenshot where someone sums up 4chan in a single paragraph fairly well. There's barely anything to gain from browsing that site. Maybe a music recommendation and a couple of wallpapers. That's about it.

Shit flinging in all directions and general contrarianism get old rather fast. If all you want is to get upset at other people, you can always come to the farms where threads can stay up for years and you can have a civilised discussion.

Most autist boards are full of zoomers who either:
>consume lowest common denominator trash
>fap to obscure pretentious trash and pretend they're culturally enlightened

There's rarely a good happy medium where people can talk about good-but-not-douchey things without being shouted down from both extremes.

I think theres some happy medium. Sometimes I get industry gossip. Sometimes I get a girl dancing.
