The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they will step back as "senior" royals and work to become financially independent.

In a statement, Prince Harry and Meghan also said they plan to split their time between the UK and North America.

The BBC understands no other royal - including the Queen or Prince William - was consulted before the statement and Buckingham Palace is "disappointed".

Senior royals are understood to be "hurt" by the announcement.

In their unexpected statement on Wednesday, also posted on their Instagram page, the couple said they made the decision "after many months of reflection and internal discussions".

"We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."

They said they plan to balance their time between the UK and North America while "continuing to honour our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages".

"This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity."

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said discussions with the duke and duchess on their decision to step back were "at an early stage", adding: "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."

The couple's announcement on Wednesday comes two months after the Duke of York withdrew from public life after a BBC interview about his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself in August.

This, some people don't understand how big here in the States the William/Kate marriage was. Kate was, and is, a beautiful woman, and wasn't a shit actress either. William isn't the best looking now with his bald head but he was still the heir of the then-heir to the throne of England, and women worldwide wanted to put themselves into her role.

Meghan isn't very good looking, is an awful actress, and nobody likes her. People cry RAYCISM over it but there's also been a long held trope in the UK over "wealthy nobleman marries stupid American actress," and, by King and Country, she's made that come true in the worst ways possible. Really, all Meghan had to do to win hearts and minds was go to the royal stylist, maybe be a *little* humble (lol, challenge impossible), say bland platitudes about peace, the veterans, and the environment, and everything would be golden.

Now? She fucked over Harry's Duke of Sussex charity, got him to be persona non grata from the Royal Family to a degree only Prince Andrew could do worse in doing, and, worst of all, *nobody likes her as an actress.*

Also, I don't know if this has been discussed, but can we blame Meghan somehow for this?

Harry supposedly authorized his friend Alex Rayner (who went to the North Pole with H) to speak on his behalf regarding the Sentabale controversy. His take? Sophie Chandauka is just jealous of Meghan.

That should help them with this crisis!

I’ve worked with African-born women like Sophie Chandauka. They are lifelong overachievers who are all business, know their shit, run a tight ship, usually have no husband or kids, and do not suffer fools. They can be cold and ruthless. They really don’t have much patience for stupidity or kissing ass. And yes, in the African NGO space they are all-in on progressive politics and use the lexicon (eg ‘misogynoir’). But they’re not usually in the business of making shit up.

Take the instance of Harry demanding — without having put it on the board meeting agenda or running it past the chair — his friend be voted onto the board with immediate effect. Two of Harry’s mates on the board wasted no time making the motion, seconding it and voting the guy on. That is just not how proper governance works. Sophie described this with Iain Rawlinson sitting next to her, nodding in agreement. Everything she said rings absolutely true and on-brand for Harry.

If Sophie was so batshit crazy, that would have been noticed during her many years on the board. They certainly wouldn’t have moved to make someone they’d experienced as less than solid to be the chief executive.

My money is on her telling the absolute truth. She has probably been showing restraint for now. Harry’s camp coming out with this accusation of envy will likely make her go gloves-off.

It’s been months since the Behavior Panel analyzed Harry or Meghan, but today they released a video giving their takes on Dr. Sophie Chandauka’s interview on Sky News this week:


They all think Sophie is being truthful and their breakdown is very interesting. There is also a lot of board membership and change management experience between the four of them, so they understand and can explain how the context relates to her responses. It all rings very true to me based on my similar experiences as well.

In the caption, she's claiming that a car accident involving a school bus has sent her into renal failure, and that doctors have told her she has only four days to live. What's puzzling about this story is that Perth police say there was a minor accident involving a school bus on March 24th, but that no injuries were reported.

-Virginia is still wearing jewelry in this picture. In a life-or-death ER situation, jewelry is usually removed.
-Same for the tank top she's wearing - she'd be in a hospital gown.
-The EKG pad on her chest isn't connected to anything, there's no lead wire.
-There is no swelling to accompany the bruising (if you'd like to be generous, maybe this picture was taken before swelling occurred.)
-All of the bruising seems to be facial.
-One wouldn't see a urologist / urology department for acute renal failure, they'd see a nephrologist / nephrology department (again, to be generous, maybe she mis-typed.)

Yeah, there's something fucky as fuck about Ms Guiffre's story. YouTube commenters [citation needed] are saying she got the crap beaten out of her by her recently estranged boyfriend, and the bus accident story is sus.

I hate to malign an SA victim but there are holes in this story even Prince Andrew wouldn't try to fuck.

In a very tragic turn of events, it appears that Virginia Giuffre may have committed suicide.

To make a long story short, evidence points to her and her husband having recently undergone a very nasty breakup, one in which he had retained primary or possibly sole custody of their three children. There was speculation that the likely-phony car accident post was a ploy to see her children.

This is all speculation. I wish her peace, whatever the case may be.
