Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Final Fantasy/Persona inspired FRPG

Also, why Monoco for the bouncing ball (the one in front of Coastal Cave, right?). He gonna sniff some feet?
He gets an ability from that boss it's pretty meh all things considered. I only mentioned it for completionist purposes. Monoco is a great support tank I just haven't built him for damage.
For example, I started a new game (since I decided on Sciel, but I had 0 lumina investment in her) and beat the Beach Volleyball on first try. All of them!
This is the biggest flex of the entire post. I swear to god that final game is not playtested whatsoever.
I don't have that ability yet, so it's either on one of the Axios island or some high end zone I didn't go to.
Also, your levels are all over the place.
My gamertism triggers if they don't have the same level and because of that, I equip solo pictos and level up those members that are left behind, with overworld encounters or merchant fights.
Yeah my levels are all over the place because of the Frozen Hearts fights. I could go back and level them back up together but I'm starting to notice that levels/weapons aren't really as important as learning how to parry/dodge and putting on the proper pictos and whatnot. Despite having a signifigantly lower level weapon, Luna is still one of my highest damage dealers because of how I have my pictos arranged. Also sidetangent but a viable strat is having a party member constantly die and apply burn debuffs to tankier bosses just to have some DoT AS WELL as giving every party member +4 AP on death and buffs and more AP on revive. If you have a good amount of revive items, I'd say it's worth it if you want to max out DPS as well as have constant 9AP every round.
A bit of a slog, but his ass is mine. Time to visit the other faggots.
>not parrying

:smug:

This first guy I beat VERY EARLY ON into Act 2. Before I got into the battlefield. He took a ton of tries but counterattack damage carried me through. Also taught me to switch my pictos out to minmax HP or defense or whatever. The shields could be easily melted with Maelle's Rule Breaker attack.
Lmao, I had to look at your screen closer. You beat Chromatic Hexga, which is piss easy.
I'm talking about this nigger.

Unless I don't remember him I havent :stress:

I feel like I've been going through this game with a fine comb but I guess not. I'll beat him the next time I start the game up.

Gestral Vollyball is the single worst minigame I have ever played

If I had the dev who created that and allowed it to make it into the game, I would punch him in the fucking face for making something so shit.

It singlehandedly should make it ineligible for game of the year awards.

Pretty much. I cleared it after 5 tries or so. The only real advice to give is that gestrals only come in from the top left corner, middle, and top right corner, and you should time the counter once they pick up speed in their arc. It's a little difficult to keep your eye on the gestrals and your character's position, but getting the timing down to focus on your character's orientation helps. You also don't have to be quite all the way at the edge to reach them either.

I think I remember Guilliame Broche saying he put it in the game because of how much the Thunder Plains minigame in FFX annoyed him and he wanted to recreate that feeling for a modern audience, very Miyazaki like.

I get it, that was my first reaction when I had to deal with it. It took me 30m or so to beat it.
But, when I started a new game, and went again, I did it first try, because I knew what to expect, I knew what to do and I was chill.
So, take a break and try again later.
My only other advice is to set Sprint to Toggle for this challenge.

Just get lucky
Gamba gives and gamba takes.

What am I looking at?
Nigga, take better screenshots!

I FUCKING
CALLED IT! They did a Nier Replicant twist though they definitely changed it up enough as not to be hackery. I'm surprised at how well they had Maelle kinda take the role of main character so gracefully. Yeah yeah Verso is kinda the MC but Maelle is taking most of the story stuf over. I'm just cleaning up stuff before going back to Lumiere to fight Renoir. If there's one gripe I have it's that they shouldn't have included the line of dialogue that made it seem like fighting the paintress was a point of no return. Sure it kinda was but it made me go back and try a bunch of areas that were borderline impossible thinking it would go straight to credits afterwards.

I got him. I strugged a bit and it was hard but holy fuck he's dead. Couldn't have taken more than an hour. Verso's attack with the delayed move did 90k damage in total. The only problem I had was his combo in phase 2, I'd always fuck up the final hit causing Verso's move to fail. I can see how you have a problem with this because you literally have to parry about 100 times in order to kill him ALONG with making sure you're doing enough damage. A good amount of hard bosses boil down to parrying as much as you can and this is again probably because of the fact that I'm vastly underleveled fighting these hard fights.

The boss in The Crows was designed by Adolf Hitler. The whole mechanic is that he dodges every hit so you have to use Free Aim to primarily do damage. Granted if you set up properly you can end up doing 60k after 9 shots. I didn't have Monoco in my party so I didn't get the skill for it unfortunately :bossman:

I think I'm going to hold off on doing some harder fights for the time being and actually progress the damn story. It's going to be hard but I'm gonna restrain myself for a bit so I have more tools to strategize with (also so I'm not 1 shotting every single story boss I run into). The one for the crows drops a crazy OP picto though. I won't say what it is though :smug:
