I am back with nothing of value besides an Idea on the overarching Issue of the SCP fiction. Ok, Schizotime.
SCP shit is basically is undergoing what I call "The Genrefication" of the publishing industry. Homework for all those who are reading this. Go to any publishing house's website, look at the staff. I want you to find the ratio of man to woman and get back to this thread with your findings.

Luckily SCP fiction, due to its nature as horror focus, magical realism, and Paranormal Investigation, might be much more resistant to this phenomenon then the Fantasy genre, which is being tortured by Romantasy (Just a note, romance can be good, even romantasy can be good. But like, people who write it are just doing it for smut). Butttttt, historical fiction is also facing this horrendous issue aswell. 'Literary Fiction' or better known as 'English Professors Genre fiction' or even better known as 'The shit retards say will change you life as they posture a false sense of intelligence.' I think might be what some of the Wiki aspires to be but many are failing horribly.

You could call this Booktokification aswell but with less horny white woman and more genderblob white men posturing as woman. Note this is not all of the WIki, its just the inner circle of elite members and those more active in the community. A lot of good SCP fiction writers left for more fertile grounds that don't require them to put more effort in greenlighting then writing. Decent to Amazing writers are also just avoiding the website. These are not all of the issue's I think plague the site, but just some.

Jumpscares in general are kind of the junk food of cheap horror tricks. One or two of them won't ruin something but actually depending on them rapidly gets boring. If any of the Hopetown stuff entered that doomsday contest the main branch had a while back it would have blown the other applicants out of the water. Even with the imperfect translations there's a ton of really good shit.

SCP stopped being interesting once youtube channels started making videos about scps. And I'm not talking about lord bung (before the patreon shit) or scp illustrated because those people made content that was decent and targeted towards an older audicence, I'm talking about slop channels that are just extentions of the infographics show. When these channels started making content it flooded the fandom with little kids and also made the most retarded storyline ever made in the fandom the most popular, the scarlet king vs SCP-999 one. That garbage in conjuction with trannys and scp tik tokers becoming hyperfixated on the gender-reassignment rock ruined the fandom. Then you have the autistic 12 year old powerscalers who tried to make more scps that were just "edgy red king devil incarnate" which ruled the fandom up until 2023 iirc
