Supposedly he had trouble getting up in the AM to work and nodding off, and his (feamle) boss supposedly sarcastically quipped that he should 'have that checked out'. So he took medical leave to have a sleep study done after a referral from a doctor where he checked 90% of the symptoms on a diagnostic questionnaire and got diagnosed after the study results. He then took the diagnosis and an accommodation for back to his boss and supposedly threw it in her face (metaphorically) and gloated.

In that case, if he is telling the truth, and not just lying through his teeth like he usually does, then that would be the correct sequence for a proper diagnosis. The thing is, what he is describing is not typical of the symptomatic presentation of narcolepsy. The symptoms of narcolepsy are usually much more severe. His symptoms are characteristic of Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS), and/or Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS). EDS co-morbid with DSPS would be treated with modafinil. That would actually be the first line treatment. One would only progress to stimulants if the -finil family failed. Amphetamines would be a therapeutic option for true narcolepsy, but, these days, they would be less common than other treatments that are specific for narcolepsy, which tend to work far better, and have less adverse effects (and are not addictive). Also, for someone with a past including substance abuse, particularly stimulant abuse, they absolutely would go through the narcolepsy specific treatments first, then methylphenidate, then amphetamines only if the first two failed. His story still stinks.

I would believe he has the knowledge to make such a judgement.

1) Minnesota has a proposed Bill from Feburary 2025 that will make the sale of flavored Nitrous Oxide illegal once it is passed. It cannot happen quick enough
2) Nick has compliance with the recommendation from the Drug Assessment/Therapy place he went to as a requirement of his probation

I wonder if Nick realizes that, although nitrous won't get flagged on a piss test, he can still fuck up his probation and get into trouble because he's abusing nitrous. If he's barred from any drugs or alcohol that aren't prescribed by a doctor, that means nitrous isn't allowed. It's not really regulated or controlled or taken seriously, but technically you're not supposed to inhale nitrous for it's intoxicating effects.

Does that mean fags on tiktok are getting drug raids for whippets? No, but if a P.O. is checking in with you regularly, and you're visibly intoxicated, you might get in trouble. Sure, they need proof, but if Nick bought whippets or galaxy gas on Amazon, that shit's gonna be on his purchase history.
