JonTron should not have made this video because his opponents do not care about right and wrong, let alone facts or statistics. It's fine he can clarify himself but this will just be looked at by the Regressive Left as "OH LOOK AT THIS RACIST TRYING TO JUSTIFY HIS RACISM." He's not debating with reasonable people. He's debating children who move ideological goalposts and LITERALLY piss themselves when they're proven wrong.

The only correct course of action would have been to tweet "lol calm down" and respond with those same three words with every retarded, disingenuous mention in his feed.

I disagree. He lost that audience the instant he appeared on Sargon's stream and started Tweeting anything remotely political. And I think Jon is aware of this. The video is not aimed at the Radical Left who will forever see him as Mega Hitler, the video is aimed at everyone else especially those on the fence.

That wasn't very good IMO. Jon didn't clarify most of the worst stuff he said ("blacks do more crime",etc), he just said "racism against whites is racist and i'm sorry you didn't understand me". He probably only made the video due to PR/Sponsor reasons.

But hey, at least Jon is willing to (kinda) apologize so people will forgive and forget him soon, while Destiny is still telling people to kill themselves on twitter.

On the fence about what? I mean, if a person needs a YouTuber to clarify how they should view dishonest debate or understand context, it's probably a large sign that they have no grasp on how semantics or logic work. Don't get me wrong, it's fine that he felt the need to explain himself if he felt he was alienating people (more likely he got a talking-to from whoever owns his channel) but the fact remains that those who bitch about race are the same people who think "intersectionalism" is a real thing, even when spellchecker says it's not.

@Gook Choy -- When I taught English, I fucking hated spellcheck. It can't tell the difference between to, too, and two, because they're all legit English words, even if you type "going down two the store." Distrust any words you want, but don't use spellcheck as a resource for... hell, much of anything. I had a student who was writing about "death due to" [whatever cause] and spellcheck somehow changed his typo to "death dude," which is admittedly a funny image but destroyed his sentence. Likewise, a student claiming that Christians lead an "exalted" life had whatever she typed changed to "exfoliated," which would be kind of cool if religions offered free skin care, but again the humor was unintentional. Be careful, that's all I'm saying. Resume ripping Destiny a new one.

I watched a lot of SC2 back in the day and I've literally never hear of this guy until this happened. For somebody who's been around the scene that long he sure seems to be a nobody.

Sometimes the mediocre attempt to rise through notoriety and agitation as opposed to any actual virtue they may possess. It's a lot easier to fling shit than it is to gitgud.

I don't think anyone else has pointed this out, probably because he doesn't do it too often, but I fucking hate it when Destiny starts using a baby voice to mock what the other person is saying. The voice itself is grating enough, but what I particularly dislike is that it's just poor form for debate. If you really want to win an argument over someone, belittling their opinions in an obnoxious little kid voice is sure as hell not going to work, and it just makes you look bad to anyone watching.

Of course, we all know Destiny sucks as a debater anyway. I just think it's another factor as to why.

Destiny's behavior is so childish. He shouts all the time, spazs out in irrational anger, mocks people with stupid voices, can't handle disagreement and has no apparent theory of mind. He's either emotionally stunted or full on autistic.

What is Steve's endgame in all of this? For what reason does a literal nobody in the streaming community feel as if he should be debating people much more important than him? Does he think that the negative publicity towards him is really good thing if it means he can draw viewers? I think Steve is just a total narcissist who wants to jerk himself off over 'winning' debates when there's no real argument that either side has put forth. I mean for fucks sakes, look at the call with Naked Ape, it's clear that Naked Ape wanted to make his position clear and then fuck with Steve by calling him out on logical fallacies and then trying to roast him, which was fine, but Steve treats it like he was a superior intellect for debating someone who was clearly fucking around.

Now, I might be a complete tinfoil hat for this one but I noticed something odd about the call between Destiny and Mr. Metokur. Many of the points Destiny had made sounds oddly similar to videos by Adam Ruins Everything, both in the way it was presented and in what was said. At around the 16:00 minute mark of the call with Metokur, he begins to fact dump everything he would've picked up from the episode Adam Ruins the Wall, and it seems as if he does it again around the 1:11:00 mark about not enough female representation in computer science, which sounds similar to other statements made by Adam in episodes like 'Adam Ruins Everything - Why people Think Video Games Are Just for Boys'.
This is most likely not the case and he was probably just drawing from the same studies and statistics but I thought it'd make for some interesting speculation nevertheless. I don't know how to embed because I'm not used to forum culture and it'd just take up space anyways, so I'll include the link to the Metokur call I had watched, and both Adam videos I had in mind.
